So I’m doing this upgrade and wondering if I need to shave/grind any thing off each caliper. My wheels are VMR 701s 18x8.5, +35mm

mount them and see if they fit, then grind if needed.

odds of someone on here, actively posting, with the exact car and exact wheel setup who did a 17z kit are basically zero.

I have vmr v810s in same specs. They clear 17zs easily. But yeah test fit your wheel over when you mount one and find out. Small wheel spacers would be your other option if they don't clear.

    Front 17z brake upgrade

I have VMR [emoji[emoji6]]x[emoji[emoji6]].[emoji6] et[emoji6] and they clear [emoji[emoji6]]z’s no spacers. You may need to grind some material off the bottom of the knuckles/uprights to clear the rotors.
[emoji6]/[emoji6]-[emoji[emoji6]] tires with some minimal material removal to the aluminum uprights to clear the tires.

Aside from wheel clearance, I had to have a small amount of material removed from the inside of the mounting bolt bosses on the 17Z calipers to center the caliper over V70R rotors About 2MM IIRC. You gotta measure.

I know this post is old and your have probably figured this out by now but if it helps get a spacer.

I'm not on the same wheels, I am on knp 18/8.5 +35 and if anything those have a little more dish than the 710's and I have front and back 17z setup with a 12 mil spacer and the fitment is soo good. from tire to fender and I have about 1cm of clearance from caliper to spoke. I'm on 235/40 tire, a lil stretch.
