    Question 01E mated to a 1.8T - who's done it?

I'd like to think some big turbo 1.8T guys have gone this route, since the 01E is a stronger transmission that handles much more power. The bellhousing is the same between the 01A 5-speed and 01E 6-speed, but I'm curious what the gearing difference feels like, since the 01E was never mated to a 1.8T from the factory. From what I've found, the Allroad 2.7T gearing seems to be the better/closer match; with the first 3 gears being super close.

    B5 A4 1.8T 01A
    3.778 2.176 1.429 1.029 0.838

    B5 S4 2.7T 01E
    3.50 1.89 1.32 1.03 0.81 0.68

    C5 Allroad 2.7T 01E
    3.75 2.05 1.41 1.07 0.86 0.73

Both of these guys did the 01E swap, but I've got no clue how to get a hold of them or track them down.

Edit: Did some homework and apparently the B6 S4 (and B7 S4) 0A3 is actually the way to go and is FAR superior to the 01E. Here is the parts needed for swapping an 0A3 into a B5 straight from JHM, for anyone curious:

i believe the 01E was mated to the European B5 S3 from the factory. It had a 1.8t. I would imagine the gearing can't be that bad if they were putting them on factory cars.

The 8L Audi S3 (1999-2003) actually was essentially a Volkswagen R32 with a 1.8T - so it came with the 02M 6-speed gearbox, that was mounted transversely in the engine bay with Haldex, so that's definitely super different sadly.

Also did some extra homework, and apparently the 0A3 transmission out of a B6 or B7 S4 is now the way to go - rather than a 01E. 3 piece syncros, much lower cost for parts, MUCH better shift quality, and straight from JHM too. JHM sells rebuild kits for the 01E and 0A3.

Damn, JHM complied a list of parts needed to swap the B6 S4 (or B7 S4) 0A3 transmission into a B5, takes all of the guesswork out of what parts would be needed:

Oh right, I forgot that was a transverse setup in the Euro S3.

That's fascinating about the 0A3 swap. The parts list is based on platforms mated to the 2.7 engine but I don't see why you couldn't do it with an A4.
