SQ5 rear upper control arm replace

My rear right camber and toe adjusters are rusted to the bushings. I’ve tried many things to free them.

I might try some heat on the camber adjuster before I break out the sawzall. This is a last resort since I will likely/possibly kill the bush. Toe bushing will be cut. Too close to gas tank.

The service manual suggests that I can’t replace the upper arm without dropping the subframe. I assume this is because it’s not really possible to properly torque the nut. The service manual is generally pretty logical.

Has anyone replaced these with sub in the car?

Are you talking about the aluminum curved upper arm that the headlight level sensor bracket mounts to? I've had that upper bolt out changing out the headlight level sensor bracket, I definitely did not drop the subframe I just had the car off the ground with a floor jack. Torquing it was a pain I set the car at ride height with another floor jack and a block of wood on the lower control arm, when I tightened the bolt I don't remember if I torqued it or just made it tight tight.

Thanks for the response- It looked like it could probably be done, but I ended up leaving it in place since the inner bushing appeared to be fine. I cut the outer bushing/eccentric bolt, replaced the bushing, new eccentric bolt, camber is adjustable again. I was able to free the toe adjusters with an induction heater
