    Headlight level sensors Stiff

    Hello

im a new owner of a 2007 S4 Avant, I'm currently swapping out the suspension for some coilovers and while taking things apart I noticed that my headlight level sensor lower harms are super stiff, i sprayed some penetrating oil and worked them gently. They are better but still very stiff.

is there a way to take these apart to clean the ball joint? the sensors are in great shape and I know these are expensive so I was hoping to do some preventive maintenance to save myself from buying new ones

i borrowed this image to show what I'm referring to

Try to remove the arms from the metal joint ant sand it with a fine grit 'till all the rust is gone. You can use some metal polish then for better results. Put some grease in before reassembling. Good luck !

yes, they’re essentially just hood strut ball joints without the clip.
