Anyone replace their steering wheel with one that has a drive select button on the wheel? I don't mind the way the stock one works, but would prefer to be able to change drive select modes without using the RS button or having to push the one near the wireless charger. Don't want to lose the capacitive function for the cruise either. Figured I'd ask and see what everyone has done for the 8Y.

User B4YM4X was able to make the 8V steering wheel work on his old 8Y. You might want to send him a PM if you're interested in learning more about it.

You'd have to go with the 2025 squircle wheel to get all of that...

    Lol squircle.

And yeah that was what I thought, not a fan of that one so I'll just live with it.

Do you all really hate the new steering wheel? I like it. I think I'd rather have it in Alcantara than the pinholed leather which is freezing in the Winters here in the mid Atlantic (why this car doesn't come with heated SW yet a Honda civic does I dunno but that's for another day). I guess will see how much different it looks and if the capacitive buttons really are a pita.

The new steering wheel is an abomination. So are the new flat rings and the new badging that makes zero sense.

Just saw on audi reddit that the person who "designed" the new rings spent 2 years working on the redesign.

I'm not a big fan of the capacitive buttons, the actual wheel is OK, but would want to keep the actual buttons
Was just curious what folks may have done is all. New wheels are pretty pricey too so not sure it's even really worth it for me.

I think the new wheels at least the gray ones must be added if you want the cf option.

The capacitive buttons suck, but beyond that the wheel just looks and feels cheap. You can see it in the current Q4. And it's not like the 8Y wheel feels great, but at least it has physical dials and buttons that feel quality when you click them. It wouldn't stop me from buying the new one but it's a shame that Audi is moving backwards in so many ways.

I'm not sure it's cheaper I just think it's a design that some like and dislike. I liked the sw on the 8V vs the current 8y. Thought it felt better in hand. Not a quality thing, just liked the feel of the Alcantara vs the leather. Never had the capacitive buttons so I can't say much there. But this has been on the higher RS level Cars and SUVs for a while. We are stuck with it either way
