After living with my '20 S4 Prestige for ~12,000 miles, I have become quite frustrated with its driver input detection when using lane assist. I have the correction set to 'Early', to ultimately keep me centered in my lane rather than ping-ponging between lane lines. The issue I have is that even with my hands on the wheel, providing some resistance to its steering, it will still alert me as if I've taken them off and will not clear until I truly wiggle the wheel from side to side.
I've checked the adaptation value in module A5 "Directional stabilization assist driver intact deactiv threshold' and verified that it is set to Late. Still, no improvement. I also come to understand that starting in MY21+, the technology changed to where the steering wheel now has membrane(?) to detect hand placement vs. whatever tech my car comes equipped with. Maybe the change was for this reason.
What can I do to preserve the Early lane assist but without these annoying warnings? Maybe basic settings via OBD11? My prior '18 S3 Prestige had Early lane assist too and never gave me an issue unless I was truly hands off for over a minute. TIA.
