C6 Headlight Retrofit?

Hey all, so i have a 2008 a6 4.2 with the AFS Xenon headlights already installed from factory, and im wondering if i could install facelift headlights with the LED DRL without any major complications (essentially plug and play- and coding with vcds) or if they wouldn’t work like that and there would have to be additional modifications done. I know that with a Halogen headlight they wouldn’t be plug and play and require some work because they have less pins going to the connector, but i’m not sure about mine. any info regarding this retrofit would be great, thanks

There are quite a few threads about retrofitting facelift headlights into the C6, google "A6 C6 facelift headlight retrofit" or something similar and you should find them. IIRC there is some wiring and coding to do and you will need headlights with the newer control modules. I can't remember if you need anything else (newer CAN gateway like you need if you retrofit to backup camera, front parking radar, etc) but it should be detailed in those other threads.
