Exhaust options

I was wondering if anyone had or has done an RSseven with stock cats and non res down pipes with xpipe and stock mufflers? I currently have just the xpipe I like the slight extra sound and extra burbles but I want a little more form my exhaust and was thinking that maybe the non res downpipes might do it. I wanna keep my cats cuz I don’t want the smell.

Looking for any advice or ideas

Stock cats are a part of the down pipe. If you are referring to the silencers or resonator after the cats. We'll they will may give an increase in decibels but it may bot give you the sound you are looking for.

Cats are the most restrictive. And even with a cables downpipe and stage 2 tune. The pops n gargles are overly aggressive.

I have a stock non sport exhaust.

Best bang for the buck is catless downpipe n tune. Gives you true power gains and the increase in sound you are looking for in my opinion.

Replace the mid muffler with x pipe and it will be very loud.

100% i second the statement that removing the 'primary silencers' aka 'baby resonators' (bottle shaped ones found under the front seats) being removed will increase volume, but likely won't be the tone/frequency that you desire.

people call it drone, which is caused by a combination of resonance sound waves in the exhaust and the mass of exhaust gas experiencing turbulence due to changes in pipe diameter bends/crushes in the pipe etc.

The resonators contain sound dampening material as well as extra internal volume chambers to make the exhaust quieter and change its tone.

You could go to a muffler shop and have them cut them out while welding in some pipe if youre going to remain stock diameter.... otherwise you might be interested in getting a resonated aftermarket exhaust in larger than OEM diameter.

IMO don't ever delete your OE rear mufflers especially now that your center resonator is gone.

Just because the exhaust sounds cool from a spectator's perspective outside the vehicle..... the people inside the vehicle will have to deal with the unpleasant sensation of a non resonated setup.
