Low boost in high gear, loud sucking sound.

    Hello,

I’m having an issue where building boost in high gear isn’t adequate. I’m getting a loud sucking sound from my intake area while attempting to build boost. I have no check engine lights, and the car is running fine otherwise; idle is normal. No issues with exhaust smoke, so I don’t think I have a blown turbo and I’m burning oil.

Any idea what this could be? I’ve never replaced my diverter valves, so I just purchased two new valves for the hell of it.

Do you have a whistle? If so PCV

If not, you have a boost leak. Acquire a smoke tester and diagnose the problem point. The throttle body gasket is almost the most common part to get leaks from because people will chip it trying to get the throttle body back in.

    I forgot to update this!

I took apart my throttle body and found the assembly gasket was broken. Already ordered a replacement.

Fantastic news as that's a rather easy fix!

    Yeah, thank god!

I was doing upgrades and needed to take off the throttle body anyway. I was in the process of installing the ECS upgraded inlets and 2 new revisioned diverter valves.

I also got a good look at the turbos once the inlets were off and they’re mint. No chips, or shaft play.
