TALK TO ME ABOUT Mk3 (8S) TT SEAT HEIGHT

    I’m looking for a 2019+ Mk3 TTRS Roadster / convertible.

The first car I drove was was a standard model which had regular seats with manual seat height adjustment and electric lumbar etc. support. This seat sat really high at its lowest setting and was not suitable for my height.

The 2nd car I drove was a Vorsprung model which had fully electric seats. This seat seemed to sit quite a lot lower than the manual seat and although it was still a little high for me it was perfectly acceptable.

I sat in a 3rd car today with standard seats and this confirmed how high they sat even at their lowest setting. They are so high I couldn’t buy a car with a seat that doesn’t sit even as low as my current car. (Mk7 Golf).

Whats weird is that normally a manual seat will often sit lower than an electric seat and not the other way around.

Does anyone have any experience of this first hand or know if there is anyway to lower a standard seat further by other means.

I really want a Mk3 TTRS roadster as my next car but have only seen 2 x Vorsprung models for sale in the last year so if I have to wait for one it could be at least another year I find one.

Sounds like you have the straight of it based on my experience regarding the mechanical and electric seats. I was wondering why headroom was such an issue in a convertible until I noted that you live in England. Now your concern makes a lot more sense. Good luck.

ps - if you lean the seats back far enough, you can get as much headroom as you like.
