Unleash the True Potential of Your Audi RS6/RS7 Performance with APR

    Product Page

We're thrilled to introduce APR's Engine Control Unit (ECU) Upgrades for the powerful 4.0 TFSI EA825 engine found in the Audi RS6 and RS7 Performance! With up to 795 HP and 864 FT-LBS of torque, this upgrade transforms your car into a performance powerhouse, delivering exhilarating power and unmatched driving excitement.

    Power. Precision. Protection.
Our new ECU software is the result of months of meticulous engineering and real-world testing, far surpassing the typical aftermarket solution. By equipping our development vehicles with high-speed data loggers, turbo shaft speed sensors, thermocouples, and other precision instruments, we fine-tuned hundreds of parameters and corrected countless protection models across multiple octanes to achieve flawless performance, enhanced safety, and unmatched reliability. We're so confident in its reliability that we even offer an optional factory term-limit matching limited powertrain warranty with APR Plus!

What does that mean for you?
It means blistering acceleration with gains of up to +189 AWHP and +220 AWFT-LBS over stock with just tuning alone, delivering a rush of power that transforms your driving experience. We recorded 2.x-second 0-60 mph sprints that will drop your stomach and pin your back to your seat like never before! You'll enjoy smooth, linear throttle response and a torque curve that feels endless, providing relentless pull across the rev range. Race-proven features like brake boosting and speed limiter removal unlock new levels of control-perfect for track days or spirited driving. All of this is backed by advanced safety routines that ensure your engine remains protected, even under the most demanding conditions.

    Performance without compromise
Our ECU upgrade includes advanced safety features that go above and beyond by correcting modeled sensor data within the ECU and enabling and calibrating new protection routines. We've optimized turbocharger protection by monitoring shaft speed and respecting overspinning limits, excessive exhaust backpressure, and unstable pressure ratios. Low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) protection prevents engine damage in high gears. Thermal management actively reduces power to prevent overheating of critical components, lowers cooling setpoints in sport mode, and reduces power until your oil reaches the proper temperature. Fuel system optimization ensures safe, reliable operation within critical fueling limits. Additionally, drivetrain shock protection optimizes torque delivery to reduce stress on critical components. The result? Massive power gains with the confidence that your engine and drivetrain are protected for the long haul.

    Enhanced Driving Experience
We didn't stop at raw power-APR's ECU upgrade enhances every aspect of your driving experience. To truly experience the sound of this engine, we've increased the standing RPM limiter, allowing higher revving in neutral and park while enabling the exhaust crackle in this mode. Optionally, you can enable even louder exhaust sounds with more aggressive burbles, pops, and bangs in all scenarios-or keep it stock for a more refined experience.

Furthermore, we've added left-foot braking and brake boosting for greater control on and off the track, while the speed limiter removal unleashes your car's full top-speed potential. The Auto Start/Stop memory ensures your preferred setting is always ready, putting you in control every time you start the car, and it disables automatically in sport mode. Finally, we've removed the cap on the boost gauges so you can see the full range present at higher power levels!

    Features:
    • Power Gains: Up to 795 HP / 864 FT-LBS (+189 AWHP / +220 AWFT-LBS)
    • Includes 5 Fuel Grade Tunes: 91 AKI (95 RON), 93 AKI (98 RON), 100 AKI (104 RON), 104 AKI (108 RON), and E60-E85 (no hardware required)
    • APR Plus: 91 AKI upgrade with an optional factory-matching limited powertrain warranty
    • Enhanced Features: Optional louder exhaust crackle, increased standing RPM limiter with exhaust crackle enabled, speed limiter removal, Auto Start/Stop memory, left-foot brake boosting, linear throttle mapping, and uncapped boost gauge
    • Advanced Safety Protection Routines: LSPI/knock protection, thermal management, turbo/pressure quotients, torque/driveline shock protection, and fuel system protection
    • No ECU Removal: Our software installs directly to your factory ECU through the OBDII port, can be easily removed to return to the stock tune, and resets the flash counter for unlimited flashes
    • Supports Bolt-On Mods: Adding most hardware upgrades increases power without requiring a reflash or additional stages
    • No TCU Required: Full torque is unlocked without requiring a TCU upgrade
    • Lifetime Updates: Continuous improvements and support
    • 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

@Arin@APR - does that mean that ODIS and other diagnostics will not detect that the car has been previously flashed and raise a TD1?

No, the MG1 ECU has a flashing limit. If not reset, you'll hit the limit and be unable to flash the ECU further.

Gotcha, thanks for the info. Tempting - my 911's APR stage 3 is wonderful, but the RS7 is still under 1,000 miles so I'm a little leery of risking the warranty quite yet.

Where can I read about that? I have like 120 miles on my RS6 that I've had under a week. I'm ashamed that I'm asking.

APR Plus is our 91 octane stage 1 tune and it includes a factory term limit matching powertrain warranty. Here's the booklet:

    https://documents.goapr.com/customer...ty_booklet.pdf

It's compatible with our hardware modifications only.

Pricing is at the bottom of this page, but note, it's on sale for 10% off that price until the 29th.

I'm considering APR+ but can you clairify this statement: "It's compatible with our hardware modifications only."

I have an Eventuri intake and AWE exhaust. Does that mean that APR+ would not be applicable?

Gotcha. Just so I'm clear, if I get the APR+ it will cover everything in your PDF except the Eventuri intake?

I have Apr stage 1 tune on my 2021 rs6. Is there an upgrade to the tune that supports auto stop/start memory? I don’t think mine does that?

We don't allow running 3rd party hardware with our APR Plus tune because we can't possibly vet all of the aftermarket parts.

The next step / roadmap for the previously tuned cars are as follows:

    - E60-E85 tune
    - Auto start/stop memory
    - Standing rev limiter increase w/ crackle enabled
    - Optional exhaust crackle sound increase

    That makes sense.

I was reading your SFD info and had another question. For the 24+ models, what are the chances I will need to unlock with PIWIS tool? Should I plan on it or are odds pretty good that I can get away with and OBD11 tool? Just trying to be prepared. Thanks!!

You will need a dealer with ODIS subscription / VAS tool. I have not seen a 24 model RS6 / RS7 Performance that didn't need it.

The OBDEleven stuff worked on some of the early 2023 cars that got it (like an SQ7) but later in the year they jumped to the new format.

    PISIW - that's Porsche stuff.

Would an independent shop be a better option than the dealer? Or have you heard of dealers unlocking and allowing the tune?

PISIW was mentioned on your SFD page....

If I have ODIS and a VAS6154A, how do I go about getting a legitimate ODIS login and password? In other words - where do I purchase an ODIS subscription?

I don't have one prepared. Typically we see more gains on lower octanes just because it's making everything more efficient, which helps more when you don't have octane as a source to make up for inefficiency.

For example, on the other RS6, on 93 octane, it picked up over 45 AWHP!

Arin@APR - can we not do this ourselves with the Ultralink and the purchase of a tune? Or are you saying we would also need an ODIS to make it happen?

To get this through the Ultralink is going to be a challenge unless you have those tools. There are some dealers though, that I've spoken to, who plan to plan to ship you an ODIS tool so you could do it at home with an ultralink. But most likely nearly all customers will use the dealership for now. We're working on a work around, but it's going to take time.

Kind of a weird question, if you have another companies tune, do you need to flash back to stock before going to APR?

Doesn't hurt to do so. The reason I say that is sometimes they will change the factory file to something that didn't come with the car, or change the part numbers so they don't match what's in our system. Secondly, some tuners also like to lock down the bootloader so no one else can flash over top of it. So, if you have an option to flash back to stock, and they give you the stock file that actually came with the car like we do, that will help you avoid any headaches.

Not that I plan on changing it (I'm *very* happy with my 911 stage 3 tune), but do you actually store the stock file for that and could I get my hands on it if I asked the right people at APR?

If you flash an APR tune back to stock, it will load the factory file.

    3.2 stock on my RS7 :). I'd imagine < 3 with the tune.

How difficult is it to return to stock and reset the counter to ensure no TD1 upon dealer visit? Are there any videos of your test car?

It's as easy to return to stock as it is to flash. Regarding flashing and counters and TD1 - see Arin's post #3

This version of the engine has slightly lower compression, and slightly more efficient, or larger turbos. Based on the results of the last engine, they were focusing on making it a little more efficient, especially say for a very hard autobahn sprint! The Cayenne Turbo GT and Urus also have these same changes, in a slightly different package.

Any videos of the enhanced engine sounds option? Is it a full re-flash to enable/disable that feature?

I'll get some videos after the new year (just out of the office now).

The options are enabled with a reflash.

I no longer see a price on the website for it. Does it have to be purchased through a dealer?
