I have a 2019 S4 and just got my wife a 2023 Q7. Just make sure to get the 3.0L and at minimum a premium plus model. inspect for any coolant smells or white/pink crustiness near the vacuum lines on the passenger side of the head or the switching valve on the front of the motor. Water pumps are consumables on these and not a big deal if you catch it early on. I had to also retape on all the rear backup sensors, factory tape was bad and a known issue. The adaptive cruise took some getting used to but now that I understand all the settings and how the car reacts I really like it

    Love our 2005 S4 stick, now working on a 2015 Q7 S-Line 3.0Tgas. Our 2018 SQ5 tuned, leaps better than our 09 Mas Quattroporte.

I recently went from 14 S4 to 21 Q7. It's had its share of issues. The main thing to worry about on 2020-22 is the 48v hybrid system can go bad. I'm not exactly sure what the issue is, but some systems stop working (for me it was the auto start-stop) and then other things will go and you'll eventually get stranded. It was fixed under warranty for us, but it's costly if not covered. I think there's a bulletin somewhere and that's covered for 7 years now. Otherwise it's a decent car depending on pricing these days.
