C8 RS6 Avant and stealth trailer hitch - ground clearance.

I'm in the market for a new vehicle and the C8 RS6 Avant is at the top of the list. However, I need a trailer hitch (for a bike rack only - never for towing). A Stealth Hitch fits but curious if anyone has real-world experience WRT ground clearance. IRL pictures show it hanging very low. I don't get too aggro with my driving - just dirt roads and bumpy ski resort parking lots. A bit of contact here and there is inevitable but hard knocks are not good.

I think it would be fine - it wasn't an issue on my C8 A6 Allroad when I had it. Yes, the RS6 is lower, but there was a ton of clearance with the A6 allroad

Was the hitch from the factory, dealer-installed, or aftermarket? Does it come with hitch electronic plug in for trailer lights, etc?

I installed the hitch myself on my 2021 RS6. the directions were fairly good but they were still in draft for the RS6. that was 2ish years ago and i gave them feedback. the hardest part was removing the bumper and it would be better to do so when it is warm and the plastic is more malleable. overall the install was fairly easy. i just removed my unit as i am trading in for a 2025 model. it took me 2 or so hours to remove.

my hitch sits just under my bumper...maybe a 1/2" gap. then the receiver is 2.5"???

they offer the hitch with or without the trailer electrical connection. I did NOT have that but they did have directions for it.

Is the receiver easy to remove? Debating between putting a hitch on my '25 vs just buying a truck.

Ugh I can't believe I just made that comparison out loud.

Yes. Unlock a lock, twist a lever.

What brand hitch? Any issues with the sensors? The dealer told me thats why there is no factory option.

Ive had a 21 and 24 RS6 and put a stealth hitch on both. No ground clearance issues and I used it for bike rack.

I had no problem with my stealth hitch on my 2021 RS6. installed myself. it states to remove the receiver every few months to grease or something like that. i just took mine out for the first time on a year and a half without any issues. I live in CT with salt and sand. zero issues.

i am not surprised they do not show the RS6 model but just give them a call to verify what to buy. i recall doing the same and found them to be quite responsive and pleasant!

Go to stealth hitches. Put in A6 all road in dropdown menu. It will list RS6 avant under models it fits. If in doubt call them. They are Very helpful
