Opinion on C7.5 S6 Purchase.

Looking to purchase this local 2018 Audi S6 Premium Plus Glacier White with 70k miles. 2 owner stock.

The trim and spec is just how I want it. Everything checks out. Engine looks spotless not just the plastic bits but in between turbos etc. car doesn’t look like it was beat or even touched. 35k out the door after taxes fees etc.

I’m coming from a B8.5 S4 and loved the platform so instead of a B9 I figured C7.5 was the next best thing considering the prices of purchase is roughly the same at that mileage.

What’s hindering my purchase is strictly the maintenance. The s4 was expensive sure but the s6 parts are usually about double.

I do all my services and have VagCom but I probably couldn’t do any engine out services.

Anyone have advice?

I appreciate any criticism or reassurances.

There aren't a lot of engine out repairs for these cars, every thing is fairly accessible.

Once the turbo screen is good, typical crappy engine mounts taken care of, you don't have a ton to worry about I don't think. You're not fighting those damned timing chains at all times on the 3.0t.

Oil changes are more expensive.
2 more plugs.
Other than that, I don't feel like it is a whole lot more expensive than my 3.0t was. I don't know what else you're planning on doing, if you want to mod it or not, or whatever, but that can be a different conversation, and opinions vary.

Now all the extra crap on the car, air suspension, ACC, etc can get annoying and expensive pretty quick.

B9s look freaking awesome though. You can make serious power with either car, but you can make more serious power with the 4.0t, if that's what you want.

Understood. I guess you have to understand that you’re stepping into another class of car so the trade off is you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck.

Half the reason I’m such a VAG guy still is that there’s a fantastic community, as you all have exemplified, that will lend a hand when the going gets tough. Hard to find that with any other brand.

I’m checking out a 2018 B9 S4 soon and will probably decide then. Again your input is priceless. Best.

2018 s6 purchased new end of 2018. love this car. 43k miles. rs5 forged wheels with 265/35 meat to fill out wheel wells. IE stage 1 tune and effortless smiles for miles. normally tire of my cars after 5 years, but still love this one. great car

paired with the borla exhaust it's amazing, while it's being stored this winter I plan to detail it

I love my C7.5, I just hit the 90K mark, I got it at 23K.... I will definitely encourage you to get an extended warranty. While the car has been reliable, the major repairs I have had were that the steering column needed replacement (it had a little play randomly) and a few months ago the mechatronic unit failed, and Audi just replaced the full transmission. It was a third party warranty that I purchased directly when I bought the car, and I just purchased a new extended warranty as mine is expiring. I bought it through Endurance, and it cost me about 5.5K... but it will be well worth it if I have a major repair again.

Interesting to hear Endurance is now issuing VSC's for this platform. Years ago, they denied my 2014 with 14k miles. Guessing it helped AoA issued the recall for the turbo screen and has the Turbo extended warranty
