I just finished the 1st 100 miles with the RS7. For comparison, I also have a 991.2 model 911 Carrera S that has been modified - GTS turbos, tune, Tractive DDA suspension with 110/160 springs, porsche motorsports lower control arms, TPC racing wide track front kit, TPC racing upper control arms, Tarrett Engineering rear lower camber arms, Elephant racing spherical bearings to replace all of the rubber bushings, AP Racing 380mm rotors all around, AP Racing Radi-CAL calipers. It's a manual transmission beast with about 560 wheel horsepower. It's also over 1,000lb lighter than the RS7. I've tracked it fairly extensively.
My initial verdict: The RS7 is astonishingly good. It's like the Jekyll to the 911's Hyde. A suave, sophisticated heavyweight boxer dressed in a $5,000 Armani suit, whereas the 911 is the same boxer in the ring, primed to fight. The Audi doesn't want to get blood on it's white starched cuffs, but the 911 is ready to beat the living hell out of you, and get bloody. Both are supremely capable. I'd give the edge to the 911 on the track any day of the week, but damned if I wouldn't take the Audi on a night out on the town with some midnight drag racing thrown in for good measure. I'd look back longingly at the 911 sitting in the garage, and promise that I'd be back on track with it soon, and then tear around town in the RS7. Both are amazing cars. I feel extremely lucky this weekend (got the RS7 2 days ago).
