Runing the 034 ECU tune (Stg1) on the wifes and very happy. I've got a Stg2 on my S5 (3.0t), both ECU & TCU(DSG). Didn't bother with the TCU on the wifes but if it was my driver I probably would have done the TCU tune on the 8HP.

I have the 034 Stage 1 ECU/TCU coming for my Q5. Should arrive Monday but unsure when I'll have the chance to do the install. Also going from EPL Stage 2 (single pulley) in my S5 to 034. Hoping I'll see a difference there too.

034 Stage 2+ for me. I had previously used another company's tune, but it went out of business. After studying the choices, performance, ease of use and customer support I went with 034.

I am very happy with 034. I also have their tune for my ZF8 auto transmission as well as a self-developed ZF8 tune using HP Tuners software. I can switch back and forth between them. I think I like my HP tuners ZF8 tune a little better, but they are close. The 034 adjustable launch control feature is a very nice feature I cannot yet (perhaps never) replicate via HP Tuners. It uses the cruise control stalk.

Intakes are one of those things where there isnt a super significant performance difference between most of the aftermarket ones. I would suggest going with whatever is cheapest or convenient. I picked up an 034 intake because I specifically needed one with a silicone tube instead of a solid tube, and they were the cheapest. I'm incredibly happy with it. Installation was simple, and its easy to remove from the engine bay when I need more space. The intake absolutely transformed the vehicle. Previously you couldnt really here any supercharger whine but now its incredible.

If by best you mean cheapest, you can get just the silicone tube from a brand like jhm or rkx for like 100. It will give you that extra supercharger noise by deleting the factory silencer design. In my opinion the 034 intakes are the best because they look damn good, and can accommodate different size throttle bodies if you’re upgrading it from OEM size. If you choose one of the metal intake tube options there is the argument to be made about it conducting more heat than the original plastic or aftermarket silicone tubes. To paraphrase the 034 guys on live stream, intakes don’t create more horsepower, but they help sustain horsepower. Back in the early days of these 3.0 supercharged platforms it was common to drill holes into the factory air box similar to the rs7 air box design. Other than that the other benefit of upgrading intake is to have a larger air filter which in theory should support more CFM AKA airflow.

I agree. I don't know about "early days" but I run a high flow aFe filter with the 034 reinforced silicone intake hose and retain the stock intake housing box. It is already a cold air system drawing air frim a snorkel to the front grill. I have also opened it up on the side facing the wheel well, cutting out a circular hole Cold air is available in that area. It flows extremely well.
