    Quattro/drivetrain noise normal?

I’ve noticed lately when slowing down, like 2-3rd gear engine coasting/braking (not using brakes) below 20mph I hear what kinda sounds like gear/drivetrain rumble. It’s low and quiet, radio off to hear it. Also seems to be in the back of the car.
I can get it to happen on slight downward slopes and slowly slowing down without using brakes. Slowing down quickly I hear nothing.
I assume it’s just the sound of the system slowing the car down but I’m not sure. Didn’t notice it til 2 months ago and only on occasions.
I’ve done trans and diff fluids in spring of 23

Normal sound? Anyone else ever notice it?

a relatively cheap option would be to have your exhaust system inspected on a lift for cracks / pinhole leaks, maybe clamps that connect the center section it's old enough to possibly have some weak spots if it's from a region where they have salted roads during winter ice/snow.

if you're on a tuned engine or trans you might just be noticing the non-factory non-silent downshifts

im 034 stage 2 ecu and tcu tune. there is non factory no silent downshifts?

I noticed today if I shift to neutral when I hear it, it goes away. I think it has to do with engine braking, seems only to happen on down slopes

i'm referring to the higher RPM and the satisfying volume of letting it ride down like from 3-2 for example. just moans as you coast to lower speed love it. if you can record video of each situation that causes it / stops it and upload it onto youtube shorts you'll probably get someone smarter to help figure it out. since you're with 034 why not data log with spi and dongle while recording video? they always invite their customers to reach out by e-mail during the livestreams
