I'm with Shane. Plus, costco has free hazard warranty and tire rotations along with nitrogen fill (if you care about that). Also, check costco online, you may get a better deal ordering like that.

You need to specify what your seasonal requirements are.

The pilot sport as4 is a decent tire but conti has a/s tires which are rated better imho.

You aren't too far from me, you might be very pleased with conti DWS06. It's my favorite "all season performance" tire. If I run dual season tire sets on a car, I run conti extremecontact in the late spring/summer/early fall and vikingcontact the rest of the time. I am extremely pleased with the DWS06 performance in snow/slush/ice for an all season tire, and the vikingcontact basically turns my audis into snowmobiles.

I've never had a chance to try the Michelin's due to the price, so I've always gone with the Conti DWS 06+ on my last and current Audi and I've been pretty happy. I'm sure they're not as good as the Michelin's, but I think they're pretty damn good given the price. I've also had to do at least 4 oil changes (3,500 mile OCI) since I've installed the Contis and they still measure 8/32, and that's with my driving style (accelerating hard through a turn on almost every highway entrance and backroad driving). They've also been wearing very evenly (8/32 all around) and I've yet to somehow need to rotate them yet. My last one I think I got about 35,000 out of them before I was t-boned, but the tread was still high (5/32 or 6/32 I think)

From what I remember on the reviews the DWS and ControlContacts got very similar reviews from customers but they were seeing longer mileage from the ControlContacts

I have both for my A6 (currently on the Contis because they came with wheels I wanted). You can't go wrong with either tire. I feel confident to drive at higher speeds in dry and wet. I haven't had much snow experience with them because I work from home if it ever snows here (feels rare here where I am in MD anymore). Both are capable. If anything, the Michelin felt a bit stiffer around curves while the Contis are a bit quieter.

Michelins give much better feel due to the stiffer sidewall.
Excellent performance at speed and in the wet.
I got the AS4s and am on the second set so far.

As a Costco Tire Shop Manager... I put CrossClimate2 tires on anything I get fit them to. Best, hands down, tire for all season driving. Doesn't matter if its Arizona summers or Illinois winters...

Agreed. Michelin Cross Climate 2 AW (All Weather) has a superior snow performance compared to most All Season tires. It meets the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) rating and hence it is between All Season tires and Winter tires. It has a very good wear performance. It is comparable to All Season tires for Wet, Dry etc.

Here are the reviews on TireRack:

What sucks is that for 20" wheels, the cross climate 2 doesn't come in the default 255/35R20 size, the closest is 255/45R20.

Nitto has a 3PMSF tire in the Motivo 365 that comes in the correct size, but the shallow sipes make it look like the snow performance will dissapear with wear. The tread on the cross climate 2 should be good for nearly the entire life of the tire.

On the budget side, I've had excellent luck with the Faulken Ziex line of tires. They have a new all season, the Aklimate, that looks interesting. Maybe worth a look.

I have the Ziex on my E46 AWD right now, the size I needed was dirt cheap on clearance on Tire Rack and I couldn't be happier especially for the price. I was going to put DWS06 on it but the price difference was ridiculous. Hilariously, the Ziex have an absolutely identical cold shake to the DWS06 (Park them hot, go back to it cold in the morning and you have that flat spot shake for the first half mile or so) which makes me think they are a very similar compound.
