Sometimes the low hanging fruit is good for morale. Having a new compressor can definitely make a big difference! I can always appreciate the different state of my compressors from one to the next. My V8 is the best, my 2.7 is sooooo slow. I’ll be doing this soon enough, myself.

Posi-vibes on the propshaft carrier bearing. I think you’ll need to modify a wrench to get it out, much like a lot of us do for the turbo banjo bolts, by shaving down the ears so it can sneak it and articulate in the small space. Use a long pry bar to jam in the joint of the shaft to keep it from turning as you try to bust the nut free. Like a kickstand.
