Here are two diagrams. The Audi manual does not differentiate the rear w/ air vs non-air. Also, a suggestion: Spend the $35 or whatever and get a 1-day subscription to Audi erWin and download all the manuals in PDF form. Note a real person has to approve the account and all before you can get started, but it's worth it to just have all the resources.

I don't know if you have a shop manual, but if you don't, then maybe look at post #70 in thread https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...ual-help/page2.

Just checked for play in the rear wheels and they are absolutely solid. I’m guessing they just look ugly from sitting with PO. And nothings squeaks too much anymore… I think it may have been the sway bay before i put some wd on it

After ordering a the same wideband from amazon I talked to Blake who guided me to return it and order his because the sensors being sold on Amazon within ~year are FAE which apparently aren’t as compatible with my car. Indeed it was FAE so i returned it about a week ago and ordered his. Received it today and installed, sensor on this one was just blank but assuming it’s Bosch as he said.
    analog wire+

little tight but boost hose slides pretty freely.

should have taken more pics but it’s pretty self explanatory, one power to 75x terminal, 1 ground, and another ground for analog. And as seen earlier the +analog for datalog. 2 wires into cabin and under dash. Rear o2 were in but coded out so I finessed one out somehow by crawling under the car with no room. Got the new one in and plugged up all connectors.

Got the stainless fittings in finally, plastic one worked fine but this will last. I ended up just tapping to 1/8NPT. Would be easier with a vice…

Turned out great, i’m going to replace vacuum lines at some point and rotate DV.

Also little update, after I installed the AFR gauge I realized car is running too lean. Glad I installed it. I’m going to replace fuel filter, go through fuel pump and system. Once I get it richened up i’m going to decide if I want to retune (as that was my plan),for a better tune and e map. Or I will save the money and start my stockpile for STK parts since that is my goal.

If you are working with Blake, I’m assuming he’s walking through the lean AFR with you?

Was going to go with Brad for the tune. Was speaking to blake a lot about installing wideband etc. Brad told me to check fuel pump lines, tank cap, fuel filter. I’m trying to get this figured out before I decide that the car should be retuned until stk.

I thought you’d already made a commitment to work with Blake based on your thread above. You don’t want to be running lean. What are your AFR’s at idle and under load/WOT?

I haven’t purchased any other tune yet, Brad wasn’t responding at first but he takes a couple days but either or seem like both great guys. Leaning towards brad no particular reason. Idles around 14-15 and under load will see 17-18. I recently emailed blake for anofhsf opinion and just like brad he also told me it may be ruptured lines running to fuel pump. After fuel filter is installed, if nothing changes, I’m going to check lines and walbro 450 as they are around 8 years old.

my abs trifecta lights decided to turn on for christmas, scan on VCDS shows bad front right wheel speed sensor. had the same issue previously with my bmw, but then it went away before installing sensor. don’t count on waiting, does the a6 c5 sensor work on all roads, i can’t find a definitive answer. They are around $30 but doesn’t say allroad just c5 a6…

got fuel lines and new pump and filter in an she’s running like a new car 13-14 afr in wot.

    found the culprit

line was a little big so heat and clamping it to shrink worked slowly but surely.

    coolant topped off

got the ABS and CEL lights all figured out

ABS front right speed sensor was torn up in a couple spots causing intermittent connection, must have been rubbing against something or chewed up.

cut the bad section out and spliced all new wire, soldered as well as shrink wrap on each connection and electrical tape for harness. Autozone wanted $400 for the sensor with shipping . It was like $70 online so decided to fix it up instead of waiting for sensor.

wideband was in b2 bc i was confused so i will need to get a bung welded in most likely.

    No more lights

13-14AFR at WOT is way too lean, especially if you're running gasoline. You should be richer than 12 at WOT, but better to be on the side of too rich, so I'd recommend shooting for a target of 11.5.

It's so stupid that the analog output from the X-Series doesn't work when paired with the FAE sensor. I had so many headaches trying to figure this issue out with customers cars before I realized it was solved by swapping the FAE sensor with a Bosch. I've talked to AEM multiple times about it and they just said they know it's a problem but they won't publicize it.

Took a little while but if you do it the right way it’s definitely worth the $30 in materials opposed to $150+ new oem bosch. Yea compared to what it was 12-13 is way better than before, the reason AFR wasn’t all the way down I suspected because I removed 1 of 2 o2 sensors for wideband spot thinking the car still had four bungs like stock system. Being no cats one sensor is at the top and one down low where secondary would normally be. Now that it is all sorted out AFR should be good, but I need to get another bung welded for the wideband. I tried to get to the primary plug on drivers side down pipe for the AEM but it’s too tight and far back. Also added some techron to the fuel, car is running better than ever.

had the wideband bung welded on today, snowy day here.

Place I took it to told me $50 on the phone last week because I know them, this morning he told me $170 and I had to wait hours when there was no one there… The mechanic doing the job was a great guy and very helpful. Bossman finally lowered price to $85 after talking but he was pissed, the car was done within an hour . I just finished wrapping ip wiring and AFR is back up and running just waiting on a gauge pod. I will see what values are when some of this snow clears out for some real pulls. This car is great in the snow, and you can definitely have some fun in it but i’m not going crazy.

finally got the trunk struts after the other set was lost in the mail, and now the trunk opens as it should

car has been running great, back on e85 tune and will rip her harder soon. been doing great in the snow, especially with the 245s but thinking about putting the other wheels back on just to switch it up for a little.

oil change later this week. want to change trans fluid since it was rebuilt when stage3 so who knows when it was last changed. also gear oil as well. pretty motivated to redo the headliner with black suede shortly, contemplating the stars but feel like it will look cheesy.

hello again, hope all are well…
today I fell victim to a bad coilpack, drove to work fine and on the way home was misfiring crazy and CEL blinking. Scanned for misfire cylinder 3. advanced auto 30 minutes from me had the coil so i rode the motorcycle to get it. quick swap and car is back to normal.
Also, recently my car has developed a vibrating noise prior to this which occurs when letting off throttle and coming to a stop. i’m suspecting passenger wastegate after reading forums, but will be diving into in later this week . Car still runs great and pulls hard but the noise is so damn annoying. It’s like a card in a bike tire. Any tips would be appreciated

Been dealing with strictly BS. Boost gauge stopped working randomly, checked control box and vacuum under dash but there was none. Air filter ended up being cracked so just took it off and put a T. Jacked the car up and felt around for noise, ended up being driveshaft center support. Driveshaft is pretty much laying on the metal so it’s getting noisier by the day… I have the 034 ordered. Hoping I can do It without a lift…

Got the new compressor put in today, old one was on its last leg as you can tell. First time i’ve been able to get past level 2 and it rides much smoother. Planning on starting center support bearing tomorrow since it’s going to be 75 here in pa, which is way better than today. Hoping for a smooth process in removing exhaust, and getting old driveshaft out and apart. These pieces probably haven’t been off since the car went stage 3 back in 2017.

Sometimes the low hanging fruit is good for morale. Having a new compressor can definitely make a big difference! I can always appreciate the different state of my compressors from one to the next. My V8 is the best, my 2.7 is sooooo slow. I’ll be doing this soon enough, myself.

Try to not let it get you down. You’ve done a great job keeping this thing going. Keep it up!

Posi-vibes on the propshaft carrier bearing. I think you’ll need to modify a wrench to get it out, much like a lot of us do for the turbo banjo bolts, by shaving down the ears so it can sneak it and articulate in the small space. Use a long pry bar to jam in the joint of the shaft to keep it from turning as you try to bust the nut free. Like a kickstand.

    Keep us posted.

Thanks man, woke up this morning to shitty rain and it’s cold. Sucks had it all planned out, but don’t have a garage. I’ll have to wait to take off in a little now. Probably gonna try to get a spot on a lift an upcoming weekend just to get it over with and not worry about rain and doing it on the rocks… 🥹

    my allroad

Sad to say i’m back with some more problems. First my oil level sensor light came on which made me think my oil was low but the sensor has gone bad. Okay not that big of a deal… Yesterday when I took the car to brunch I noticed a rough idle, on the way home I tried to get into boost and it stutters down. CEL blinks for misfire and when I scan get a code for rich condition. I haven’t dug into it yet but thinking hopefully the MAF went bad. I was going to unplug it, and test but it is siliconed on… I should read values through VCDS, lmk if anyone has suggestions, my idea would be to cut the silicone and take the connector off but who knows if it will go back on…. TIA

I got this light too, have to fix pass latch so the other comes on too. Looks good tho, $5…

Yeah, car is running good. Once this driveshaft bearing situation is figured out will pretty much just cosmetics. I have an eye on a set of mirrors because mine are banged up… also asked if he has the top engine covers

Got this damn bearing done today finally. Was a bitch but got it done on the rocks. Had it pulled up on 4 ramps. Drop exhaust. Drop heat shields. Center bearing rubber was completely destroyed as seen. And drop driveshaft.

    no bueno

hoped for the driveshaft to be the bolt on, but it ended up being the circlip type… Little tricky to get off but picks help.

    Old v-bands completely toast

tried to remove old center bearing with screwdrivers and pry bars but that’s impossible. Had to run to shop up the street and charged $40 to take the shitter off and press the new one on. The guy was super nice he wanted to do it for free.

    back together it goes

and back into the car. One thing I had trouble with was getting the v-bands to seal to downpipes and exhaust, I cleaned the pipes as best as I could but there was so much rust. Had to reposition v-bands and tighten in a few spots until it stopped leaking.

Yea it would have been much easier with a lift. But you gotta do what you gotta do. Took it on a test ride, no more click click click. Gonna be driving it more but it feels way less sloppy as you’d imagine.
