Finally on E, had speculations but the tune is great so far. Pulled up with 5 miles left put 5 gallons of E85 in the car and started it with the 93 tune to clear the lines. After about 45 seconds the rpm’s started to drop so I shut the car off and flashed the tune. It took about 7 minutes to flash but fired right up and has been running awesome. Jfonz must have got me right. Will have to get some videos, I know it sounds cheesy but the mufflers of the Xs power really make the car quiet and i’m kind of tempted to take them off. Don’t want to mess it up tho everything was done right.

    That sounds exciting!

You do know the gas cap is designed to sit on the fuel door while fueling, right?

I’m just giving you a hard time Do what you will with it, but if you’ve ever lost one you’ll think twice about where you put it the next time. This one still has the rubber tether, but my daily doesn’t. I also didn’t know this for a long time, but recently in Oregon we now get the privilege of pumping our own gas, if we choose to, and I’ve learned so much! Ha!

While my tether has broken, I still do this. But up in NJ where I can't pump my gas, I've seen them stack it on the pump until it's done.

Past few days it has been raining a lot and today it snowed, I realized my rear driver floor may looked wet so I felt around and the carpet is soaked. Assuming it’s one of the drains clogged or something, it’s right under drivers seat behind HVAC. Let me know any ideas
    Thanks

Is your C/D pillar wet? And front driver's floor? Car sitting on incline?

The rear drains are terminated right about the wheel liners of the rear. But the ends are not really "open" and a lot of folks will take a knife or scissors to snip it open wider. Pretty easy to check per side. I like to try to blow them out with air hose, but hear people use throttle cable or weed wacker line.

My one allroad had a similar issue where the sunroof drains would leak, for one, but it was also leaking from the climate air intake area. I haven't fixed it yet so it's under tarp for now.

Meanwhile, my RS had a leak b/c the cowl was not properly sealing and it came in through the driver's side. Fixed with some butyl rope.

Check the plenum where the ECU is. Also check the drains under the battery tray.

If your drivers carpet is wet, you may want to make sure the TCU box under the carpet doesn’t have any moisture in it.

Yeah it's likely coming in the driver's side front, but good to clear out all vents

It’s either the sunroof drains or the cowl plastics. Be sure to get after it quickly so as not to ruin a module under the carpet from water damage. That’ll be a whole bigger issue that all too many have fallen victim to.

I have a steel braided cable I like to use to fish out my drains. Fronts are easy, but the rears can be a little tricky to find. Be careful with air pressure because you could damage a joint if you are truly clogged with too much air pressure. The drain lines are like plastic bonded onto the sunroof frame.

I use weed whacker trimmer line to fish the sunroof drains out. It’s stiff enough but also won’t pierce the plastic.

i have a feeling it’s the seal on the windshield, without digging too deep. guessing i will have to seal that down, thinking it dripped onto the filter and just came thru vents? driver floor isn’t as wet as back only damp up front.

Have you tried to see how they will fit without any, or with say one 1-2 wraps maximum of teflon tape? I don't see any obvious teflon tape on my Bailey valves with the plastic fittings, but they are pretty well fully threaded in. If you're really worried about leaks, you could even use say one wrap of teflon tape with some PFTE thread sealant (pipe dope) over the tape.

Personally, I've gotten in the habit of using teflon tape instead of pipe dope, but I recently had to put a new threaded water valve on a 1/2" copper threaded fitting, and it would leak with the teflon tape, but after I used teflon tape and a little PFTE thread sealant over the tape, they sealed up fine.

Yea, I tried no tape, tape etc… with multiple NPT fittings, stainless brass and plastic. The threads of the baileys are BSPT (UK) which are hard to get so i’m going to tap the baileys to 1/8NPT and put those stainless fittings in. Honestly the plastic one would hold up for awhile but it looks terrible unmatched. Once this leak is taken care of I will get to it. Thanks again Jim

You might need to seal around your climate air box too if it's leaking there. Those are notorious, but on the passenger side.

took off the cowls and battery and cleaned the junk out of the tracks where cowl sit. put it all back and it sits almost flush now. i’m going to put a layer of silicon or just butyl rope because it’s still not flat from the memory it has.

Appreciate it, I try my best. I’m about to RTV over to make sure, dump some hot water down the sunroof drains, and clean the drains under the battery tray and I should be set for winter.

I wish the RS had the same design of the cowl--mine'd probably slot back in. But of course it has to be different...

Yea wasn’t to bad once you can see how it clips down, i took a flathead screwdriver and cleared the track and blew the rest of the debris out. After that you have to shift it back and fourth so it’s centered and pull it up to the right spot to clip it all down.

    Oh! There you are

Wasn’t clogged down here just some leaves, the plug has been deleted so no buildups.

I’m so fancy now with this battery holder

Fished them out a little and squirted water in, slower at first but came out in streams behind both front tires in the end.

and some rtv to finish the job

Ok so I installed the lug studs at least I thought, when I tried to put the wheel on they ended up being too thick because the nuts and studs transition to 19mm opposed to 17mm oem lug bolts 🥲.

They really did look great and the install was easy with a t5 on the end, usually it’s two nuts sandwiched together. Previous owner gave me these with the car, not sure if it’s the wheels but whatever.

Glad I went under here anyway because I found where the squeaky squeaks are coming from . Add that to the list of ASAP. Getting cold and that looks like a knuckle buster.

Not the greatest sight to see, pretty rusty. These east coast cars… Definitely should put some coating over that before it eats through.

Can someone tell me what I should order as far as rear suspension wise, i’m thinking you just press the bushings out? But that arm looks a little rusty, does anyone have a diagram for rear suspension ?

Spray them all with some penetrant a couple times and leave over Thanksgiving. Should help loosen them up. Be super careful about using a torch under the car because the air lines. With a breaker bar and a wrench propped up on something, I don't think you'll have much issues getting the larger bolts off.

With all the Black Friday sales, you should be able to get the bushings you need or new CAs. FCP Euro has been a good go-to for me.

I can see about digging up a diagram on my non-work computer.

Okay thanks will do. I’m also going to coat the rust in naval jelly soon before all the salt and snow hopefully. And maybe a slight undercoat. Let me know if you find that diagram, because I can’t. I think i found the CA it was like 400 a piece so I’ll probably opt to do the bushings and clean them up real good on both sides. I’m gonna check for play to make sure they really need to be replaced, because they may just look mangled.
