Hi all, I bought a 2018 S5 knowing it likely needed a new engine, but have run into an issue I believe to be with the PCM. An indy shop installed a used motor with 20k miles, but cannot get the car to start. It ran before having the original motor removed, but one of the cylinder heads were pretty destroyed (hence the need for a new motor).*

The problem is that the engine has no spark. There are no DTCs, and after bringing the car to my local Audi dealership, they were also unable to determine the cause of the issue. They wanted $7500 to diagnose any further, which I declined.*

After bringing the car home, my brother in law (who is much more technically savvy) spent a few hours trying to trace the issue, but also with no luck. However, we decided to open up the PCM and the attached pictures are what we found. I can say with absolute certainty that these scratches/pry marks were not from us.

My question is: could this be the reason why the car is not starting? And if so, does it look repairable, or do I need a new PCM? I have not yet mentioned our findings to the shop that installed the motor.*

Please let me know if any additional information is needed. TIA!*
