I did not like DWS06s on other cars in the past. Grippy and comfy but squishy and not confidence inspiring at the limit.

I do agree with you that they are a little squishy (lol) when pushing them, they are more of a swiss army knife tire that just seems to handle every road condition (which we get in Michigan, sometimes we get every condition from ice to snow to slush to rain in the same day) quite well. Definitely not a super high performance tire but I am extremely happy with them as an all season tire.
I had the michelin pilot sports on my C7 S6 originally, and later switched to the conti extremecontact sport when they were on sale on Tire Rack. I really can't say whether I notice a difference between the two, but I really only truly "use" my torque vectoring differential a few times a month in the summer and fall, so I'm not the best person to have an opinion on them. The conti's were quite affordable compared to the michelins when I bought them, though.
