Looks great. How is the clicking of the 034 brake rotors?

It's loud all the time, but you only hear it when driving with the windows down. The sound bounces back off whatever you're passing by. Really notable when you're driving next to a center median or divide, but it's always there regardless. I'm still trying to get used to it.
It's a good kit though. A little over 22lbs of unsprung weight reduction compared to stock, with added benefit of SS lines which definitely provide a notable improvement in brake feel and engagement.

So what is a better 2piece rotor without clicking noises? Just curious for when I’m ready to change!

To be clear, I'm not suggesting it's a bad product or that there's a better rotor out there. It's a great kit. But as all with j-hook rotors you get notable rotor noise as a result, and that noise will be subjective to each person's ear whether they hate it, don't mind it, or love it. I'm bordering between the first two and slowly moving to the middle.

ECS, JHM, and Girodisc are among others that make two-piece rotors for our platform. While Stoptech, Revo, and some others offer them as part of a BBK kit.

Thanks for the reviews. I really want the 034 rotors but don't think I can deal with the noise for a family car. You mentioned the ss lines, is there any downside? If I don't install those, will I still get a nice feel? Thinking of doing 2piece front rotors, normal rear, akebono pads, and brake flush

That approach would be fine, since most of the inertia bias is on the front brakes anyway. Doing the rear would help remove some unsprung weight. No downside to SS lines - they'll help provid you with a firmer pedal feel because there's less flex compared ot the OE lines. You'll use less pedal force and will help generate a more linear engagement.

I've had slotted two-piece rotors before (Stoptech BBK) and they were quiet from an NVH perspective. I'm personally not a fan of cross drilled rotors.

Thanks! Have you heard of anything about the JHM 2-piece rotors? They say they save over 10lbs and look like 2mm thinner than stock -- is that safe? At what point would that become a problem? https://jhmotorsports.com/front-roto...s4-s5-sq5.html

Sorry to make this a brake thread haha

No worries at all. Unfortunately, I dont have any first hand experience with them so I can't say for certain.

Finally had the time and resources to install the 034 Motorsports Transmission Mount Insert. Had this laying around for a while, but a lot of my tools, including my jack, were stolen a few months back. Picked up a new jack and triple square sockets this weekend so this finally went in. This was one of the earliest mods I did to my B8.5 A4 and it made such a subtle but great driving enhancement. Really cuts down on the shock shift in lower gears.

Great, How is the NVH on that piece? I've ordered one but the one from ECS with the poly in it also . I heard that the 034 introduces a wee bit of unwanted NVH into the cabin.

No NVH at all that I've noticed, same as my B8 A4. The factory rubber/cushion is still in place and it does a good job of dampening vibration by itself. This just firms up the shifts to reduce the feeling shift shock you occasionally get in the cabin. Borderline alomost feels like a CVT at times (but in a good way - just continuous pull). I would expect the ECS version to be virtually identical, even with the polyurethane design.

Just significantly brighter, and whiter. The rearward illumination through the reverse camera is much brighter than before.
