Is there any reason that this wouldn't fit a 2014? I just got a A8L and it came without one :( Therefore, I have no clue what the stock one looks like. It looks like it should work.

    Splash Shield - Audi (4H0-825-235-J)

    Right part number.
It just may be built out of a different material.
On mine, I have felt like on the inside and plastic material on the outside of Splash sheild.

Awesome, thanks. Yeah, my A7 had that felt stuff. I see it missing as a feature and not a bug. That seems to soak up everything and get nasty. Although I suppose the idea is to hide any dripping stuff.

I was actually going to do that. I was thinking maybe I could 3d print a little hatch with some neodymium magnets that just pops in place.

How much room is between the skid plate and the oil pan? If there's at least 10mm I already have it planned out in my head.

Edit: I drew up a draft, I'll print it out tomorrow maybe.

It would be 7mm above the skid plate. The access hole is 70mm to hopefully allow enough room for splashage or gluggage when draining the oil, and leave enough margin for error you don't have to nail it perfect.

It would be epoxied on and shured up with 4 3mm bolts, probably about 15mm long or so. I guess I could put detents in for bolt heads or nuts to make it flush, nuts would probably be better as you wouldn't want those hanging off the bottom.

It takes 8 10x2mm neodymium disc magnets and I suppose it would be printed 100% infill preferably ABS/ASA, if not, PETG. PA seems like it would be overkill and PLA wouldn't work in this application. Although, I didn't think about it, we could have made some floppy TPU door too.

Damm, that looks like a solid plan .

I will try to measure mines soon and see what's going on.

You could just push it and see how much it gives and guesstimate. Actually, I don't think it will matter. The thing sticks up 7mm. The belly pan will easily flex enough to allow for it.

I'll have the other half done. No idea when my undertray gets here.

Do you know of a good place to get hardware? I'm guessing it wasn't put back on because they either lost the hardware or they were just lazy.

I'll give these a shot, maybe they'll work. It's an $8 gamble. The ones that say they're for my year are out of china but the stock picture is the same.

Now that's a good fine. I ordered a set just in case .
I normally do my own oil changes, but the last 2 times I went to a shop.
And I know they lost a few screws and bolts.
    Haha.

    Thanks for the find...

Yeah, the two times I took my A7 to a shop for some work I didn't want to invest in the tools to do, the car came back with bolts/clips missing. When I had my motor mounts done, they didn't put the fender liners back on right and didn't screw my alternator wire on all the way. I noticed my tires had rubbed through the floppy fender liners and a week later my alternator went out.

I also picked up a ziplock bag full of assorted body clips off aliexpress for $3 that a majority of them can be made to work. If they don't work on the audi, they'll work on my wife's mazda or my corolla.

I just got this thing put together, it's pretty sweet, I can't wait to try it. I guess we'll figure out if it is a good idea or not.

I may redesign it so it isn't asymmetric. Although, I don't know if it matters, the magnets only hook on one way. I do need to extend the pull handle in the middle.

I printed double wall and 50% infill and it is plenty strong.
