My son and I are fixing up a 2008 a4 b7.
I also had another one I drove for a bit and sold it after about a year and liked it very much.
We now have a 2008 a4 Quattro we bought thinking it was an easy fix. My son bought it without me there and it was ticking really loud!

Thought it was a chain issue and ended up replacing the head, no luck. Turns out that it was the balance shafts so worn that they were banging into each other lol.

Now it’s almost fixed. Still have a rough idle with low fuel pressure codes but we’re almost there. Hope to learn here and get some guidance!
