Guarantee if dealers didn't spec that silly performance, dynamic add-on or whatever it's called for $6K they'd all be gone. Maybe some ppl really wanted that but the vast majority of people aren't looking for that. Feels like a lot of dealers just wanted that extra revenue

$6k options = $300-$350 in gross margin.

As someone who used to do the ordering, I always mixed it up. Some cars, RS3’s, even an A5, went full tilt. Every option. Other times, I would order bare bones. Oddball colors too. Sometimes you order to sell, other times you order with the specific purpose to have trade bait for other stores. Good inventory management always has a mix on hand, when ordering at least is within your control. Other times, you got what Audi sent you.

It’s almost always easiest to sell something you have on hand.

Having something in inventory is good for a brief period of time, but it’s a gamble. They all eventually sell, to someone. But the way Audi does things now (and they focus on this more in present day than they did a decade ago), inventory has to turn. More volume + quicker turn + greet surveys (sales and service) = more allocations and favored status when you need a favor from corporate.

if you aren't going on a track this just seems a waste of $5600 or almost 10% of the entire cost of the car. it is a wasted feature for normal driving in my opinion. I have ceramic pads on the steel rotors for $500 and enjoy the same pad/rotor life and no dust... granted my pads are NOT ok on a track but I know I'll never be on one. they tried to get me to buy that kemora one with all the options and it was like 77 or 78k msrp. it has every option they make lol.

All I was saying is this slightly used RS3 is priced at $76k which I compared it to a new one with the Dynamic package option (which this used one doesn't have). You can buy a brand new one (if you either ordered it or are willing to drive to get one at this point) with that dynamic package for this advertised price. I totally agree though, I did not opt for that on mine and I also don't drive like a normal person.

Car finally arrived in Canada on July 4th and it's supposed to be trucked from Halifax to Toronto according to the inventory comments.
My flight leaves July 18th, with after delivery my PPF person is allowed to goto the dealer to do their work remotely. Will be interesting on timing!

Was looking back on emails, it was June 2023 I put my deposit down on the waitlist shortly after Audi confirmed the 2025 for Canada, no wonder this feels like it's taking forever lol

Found out, it looks like there was miscommunication somewhere, I was told April 1st (so maybe fools joke...) that I hit Production. In reality it was end of May, with a completion of May 22, 2025.
The order was submitted Feb 18th like everyone else though, just not frozen until April 23rd!!! Likely when the information was given I hit production, it meant I received a production date, and someone didn't look up the production week properly. Finally have been receiving screenshots of the order

Picked up my RS3 last night, I can’t even describe how it feels. First time driving one but none of my previous vehicles even compare. I had two wrxs and one was heavily modified and my last vehicle was an SQ5. Haven’t taken the RS3 above 4k rpms yet but it’s still a blast to drive. Put 100 miles on it since last night! I’m super excited to get through this break in period! I did notice I do have to turn the volume up the whole way on the Sonos sound system to get any kind of decent sound from it.

Congrats!!! So you never drove an 8Y RS3? You are going to love it. The way the rear end moves around is strange at first but you will quickly find out how awesome it is!

Yeah! I do love it already. This break in period is helping me learn the car. It’s definitely an adjustment to my SQ5 hahah! I know people don’t like some of the exterior features on it but for me, it’s such a beautiful car! This is the first car I’ve had that I haven’t immediately felt the need to modify…I know…it’s only be a day hahah

Happy to hear you're loving it! I'm coming from a 22 Golf R. I test drove the 24 RS3 once but I legitimately can't remember how I felt about it. Hoping that I don't miss my Golf R bc I really LOVE it. I'm going to be super sad selling it.

I am REALLY disappointed to hear about the sound system. The Golf R has a H/K system and it already sucks so I can't imagine having a worse system based on some of the impressions I'm hearing. I love taking long drives to nowhere listening to my music so it is a big deal for me. I had a loaner VW Arteon for a month in April and it was an incredible upgrade in that aspect over the Golf R which was so weird. I HATE the way they cut costs on important things.

Does anyone sometimes have a noisy start-up? I've crossed 1200 miles and did a fresh oil change @ 1k, Liquid Moly 0w-30. The levels are perfect, but i've noticed 2 mornings after sitting overnight... pretty noisy startup. Just for like 1 second. Anyone else experience this?

More likely that it was strategic by audi to keep the cars on the showroom so people who are ordering can actually see the car, but one of the plugged folks can speak to whether that is what actually happened.

yes my 24 is loud during cold starts but that's the beauty of it ! I wish it was louder and I have straight through audi sport mid pipes which did actually help on making the cold start louder...

this reminds me why I have this car.. sometimes we take things for granted but it is a blast. even though it looks like I won't be getting a 25 for now... thankfully I'm in my 24 still. I was at an appointment today and the client's were freaking out about how cool the car is.. even in my boring white that to the untrained eye on the highway looks like it could be a rental civic/jetta/a3 LOL... those that know pick up on it quickly. turns out he told me a story about his old 'quattro' that was amazing and he kept walking around my car asking questions about it smiling LOL

I revisited my prior audio concern and to be honest I didn’t really listen to any music on it until today sitting in the parking lot of my office just to confirm if it did or didn’t suck…it’s not so bad actually. My B&O was better but I can live with it. I’ve just been enjoying the sound of the sport exhaust for now but honestly I don’t think it’s as bad as I originally thought. I turned off the speed volume control and that seems to have helped.

My RS3 shipped out from Emden on 7/5 on the Marvelous Ace and is scheduled to arrive at Baltimore 7/16, so I am hoping I'll be driving it by sometime in August. I'm looking forward to getting through the break-in period with a nice long road trip.
My spec: Ascari Blue, Carbon Package, Sport Exhaust, Red Interior Design Package. MSRP.

I asked Dr Google, try this:

To adjust the cruise control on an Audi RS3 in 1 mph increments, you can either tap the cruise control stalk up or down to increase or decrease the speed by 1 mph respectively. Alternatively, you can push the stalk up or down to the second detent for 5 mph adjustments.
Here's a more detailed explanation:

Engage Cruise Control:

First, activate the cruise control system as per your owner's manual instructions.
Set Initial Speed:

Once you reach your desired speed, press the "SET" button on the cruise control stalk to set the initial speed.
1 mph Adjustments:

To increase or decrease the speed by 1 mph, briefly tap the cruise control stalk up or down.
5 mph Adjustments:

For larger adjustments, push the stalk up or down to the second detent for 5 mph increments.

I'm having some issues with the radio. On FM stations, it will frequently skip and then start replaying like 10 seconds back. I would say this happens multiple times per hour, which is pretty annoying. I don't have this issue with XM radio though.

Has this happened to anyone else? I wonder if it has ever been an issue with the 8Y in general since I'm not sure they would have changed much. I have checked various screens for a software update for MMI, radio, etc. and everything seems updated.

In case anyone else ends up having this issue, I think I found the culprit. Turning "Online station tracking" off in the radio settings seems to have solved my problem. I think it would switch my FM stations to their Web versions automatically, which did offer slightly better audio quality, but with the downside of it frequently skipping/rewinding.

Turning off HD radio and the additional online services didn't help for me, but are worth considering for others if they have a similar problem.

I went with Kyalami Green with every option except the Dynamic Plus option.

And why isn't there a Florida canal? The boat has to go all the way around that Florida peninsula!?!? LOL. Hoping to finally see the RS3 in maybe 1.5 weeks in Chicago? Just a guess at this point.
