From what I can see in our internal system pipeline production is still on schedule, the first initial allocation of RS3's (dealer spec'd launch builds) actually just left the factory and should be landing in Freeport TX in the next week or so.
Hi, can you confirm that you are allowed to order red seat stitching WITHOUT the corresponding RS Design package?

The online configurator allows you to do this but my local dealership prevented me from submitting that option through the order guide as they said that it’s a requirement to be coupled together.

What exterior color did you order?

As the article states with Porsche, “made in Germany” may be the sentiments for premium Audi models.

I don't think that was the purpose of the statement. Essentially King Cheeto wants assurance that you have some vehicles in your lineup built in the US to be eligible for a potential pause on the 25% tariff. So essentially they're just saying they're going to try to build something (not necessarily a RS) here to be eligible for the proposed delay on auto-tariffs.

All well and good, but it would easily be 4-8 years until the first such cars roll out. The net result being a huge question mark because even the majority of components for said cars now have the extra fees too.

    Hi Emblazen,

Your local dealership is correct, it seems to be an error with the online configurator. I just attempted to submit a mock-order and once I selected the "Black/Express Red" interior option it immediately required the add-on "RS design package, RED"

Yes - but it seems that we may see a "delay" in these tariffs to allow manufactures to pivot...
What they pivot to is still unknown... but seems negotiations are progressing if there is now talk of pausing the automotive tariffs.

Right, but it doesn't appear that it's about that. He just wants to know that you plan to start production of cars (non-specific) in the US and then you will be eligible for the pause that he woke up one day and decided to propose. We all understand that it's going to take a very long time for production to ramp up in any meaningful way. But again, this man has no clue what he's doing and so that's not the important part. For our sake, it's mostly about getting the delay long enough to be able to get the RS3 without the 25% tariff

In the dealer ordering system are you required to select a seat color? Some of the exterior colors default to red stitched seats when selected in the online configurator. I have a hunch that after selecting those exterior colors in the dealer ordering system they should not have tried to specify a color for the seat stitching and we'd get the default stitching color (red). Just a guess on my end

Yes, you are required to select the interior options. The only available options are Black/Super Black stitch (QH), Black/Express Red (TG), and Black/Micommata Green (QW). The non-RS Design interior Black/Express Red (AR) does not pop up whatsoever.

Thanks Zach, I wish the new RS3 was optioned out with green stitching / more green accents / dynamica steering wheel with center stripe. I did want the green stitching but like you probably recall we opted for that "PEE" package which gets the green accents and the dynamica steering wheel. I just have to remember to CLEAN that wheel monthly, cause I'm sure a stock leather replacement steering wheel is going to cost $$$$. I'm currently trying to restore the alcantara on my OMP steering wheel for my 280z and I'm wishing I cleaned it on a regular basis cause 9 and 3 o'clock areas are in bad shape.
    Dan L.

    '25 RS3 - on order / '24 M3 Comp / '15 WRX / '75 280z 3.1L stroker with ITBs

Yea, exactly haha I remember when we were going through the order guide building your RS3 and thinking that interior (QW) automatically required RS design (PEE) was kind of a weird choice, i'm assuming with how late into the year the RS3 is actually getting released they tried to consolidate the build choices to be minimal and get orders out as fast as possible.
