It is standard on US cars too as I have it.

Found out the TPMS is the same as the 8V where in calculates wheel rotation. It does not display any tire pressure readings on any display. Works for me as I hate those damn sensors.
Not correct. The 8Y has individual sensors in each wheel.

Canadian cars do not have the sensors in the wheels. This could be to make it easier to have a second set of wheels for Winter.
Anyone having trouble completely turning off the ESC? With the 8V I could hold down the ESC switch until the display said ESC OFF. This no longer works. I have to hold the switch for 3 seconds and let go of the switch. If I wait for the display to change while holding down the switch it never goes into ESC OFF.

I might just forget all this, sit tight, drive my 24 for a few more months and see what happens. I know when I stop looking something will come up. also would like to see if we can start making some money again. I'm in commercial real estate in the hottest market in the country and business is completely dead right now. Every one of my client's are small to medium and even some large business and every single one of them is on hold. many feel it will still get worse with upcoming tarrifs and inflation, who knows but what i do know is right now our market is completely dead at a standstill. not a great time to purchase or commit to anything. on the other hand, it could all get better soon and/or the same RS3 in a few months could go from 70k to 80k so maybe it is a great time lol.... lots of conflicts right now internally
I have a good friend who sells real estate on LI NY and he says it rains it pours in this industry. Good luck man! I agree, don't take on additional debt if you don't need to. Enjoy what you have.

I'll be pretty disappointed if the Canadian cars don't have the TPMS sensors, I find the pressure readouts very useful - be it for track days or even just keeping track of my pressures from time to time. Wonder if there'll be a way to retrofit those.

I guess it's like an extra $400 the first time you get winter tires, sure, but I mean... it's an $80k CAD car, surely that isn't so bad once you're in this price range?

There are cheap workarounds for adding TPMS, like these: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=tpms+moni...f=nb_sb_noss_1

Yeah that's an option, but I would much prefer something integrated into the car itself.

It seems like Europrice has a retrofit, but given that it requires modules to be unlocked for coding, I assume it won't work with the 2025 because of SFD2. https://europrice.us/retrofit-packag...oring-system-1

Totally agree, the more stock-ish the better... I had been looking at these when I was liking the amount of info that the Civic Type-R gave you with their Log-R setup, but I was looking at the more "grown up" Acura Integra Type-S (which lacks a TON of temps/pressures, etc). For a track-day event these would come in handy at least.

I ordered Ascari and haven't seen it yet in person, but I expect it to be really nice from the many different photos I've seen of it in different lighting. For me, choosing color was a process of elimination: no grey, white or black for me; I had a red JCW mini and didn't want another small(ish) red car; I already have an attention-getting Shark Blue Cayman and wanted something more understated than Kyalami or yellow. I'm also happy they offered a different blue than Turbo, since that seems very close or identical to Shark Blue (as well as VW Cornflower) and I don't want (seemingly) identical colors on my cars. So, for me, Ascari was perfect. Mine is due in the Port of Baltimore tonight, so my excitement is growing.

    Ascari will be very nice.
I also have a Shark Blue Spyder and accompanying Kemora Grey RS3.

We will be car combination cousins!

thanks bud. fortunately, I learned from 2008 (which included 09 & 10) in our industry.. this time I put a good 2 plus years worth of life or income aside in case... but yea, not going to dip into that to buy a car that's more than I need or really want lol.. or at least until deals start flowing again.. then all bets are off hahahha

I don't understand or maybe miss understand this... my 2024 has the TPMS with a display built into the dash from factory.. it shows each tire pressure and temp. I always have that on the main display especially since we have no spare lol... I think it's under sport displays on the steering wheel menu.

Seems that some Canadian owners are reporting their cars are missing the pressure display and only have indirect TPMS (i.e. uses the wheel speed sensors to estimate the pressure), though it's possible there's just some misunderstanding here? This doesn't seem to apply to the RS3 in most other markets, so it does seem odd.

Have a 8Y from Ontario, Canada and it is indrect TPMS, couldn't find in the MMI for direct TPMS.

Yeaah, looks like for whatever reason we don't get it then. Ah well. Might look into the retrofit a few months down the line - seems like Europrice actually has an SFD2 solution in place now for the facelift cars too.

It does indeed react differently now. I also had trouble doing this at first.
Press the ESC button for about 4 seconds.
As soon as you release it, you'll see the message "ECS OFF" on the display.
A small yellow "ECS OFF" will also appear above your tachometer.

I'm in the US and tire pressure is only measured with the wheels moving. It seems like everyone has indirect TPMS on the 8.5Y, not sure if that is any different from the 8Y or not.

My understanding is that, if you have a pressure readout, that is still direct TPMS - it just needs some movement from the car before the sensors start transmitting. Indirect TPMS doesn't provide readouts, it just throws a warning when it believes the pressure has gotten too low.

For the first two weeks of ownership I thought my 8Y didn't come with hands free trunk. Guess I didn't do it correctly, but trying again it worked; thanks.

I discovered it by accident, my sq5 had it and I just mindlessly put my foot under the center of the car and it popped open!

going outside I still don't believe that we have that LOL... more importantly, my dealer just called me and said they can order me a 26 now, with expected delivery around Nov give or take... that timing would be ideal for me. they don't have exact costs either yet but he said they expect it to be very close to the 25's. while I had them, I asked about getting a custom color and he said they can do that but it sometimes causes further delays as it needs approval from Audi LOL... whatever that means... someone say purple 1 of 1 26 RS3 coming my way? LOL... jk.... although I would be curious what color options there are and what they cost? anyone have any idea?

The PFL didn't get it. I don't think anyone in the US got it on a PFL, and I think outside of the US it might've been very limited. I can remember one video very early on where a guy accidentally discovered it, but then if I remember right a bunch of other people checked their cars and no one else had it.

FWIW, here were the pre-approved AE colors for 23:

You can go outside of these, but that will be subject to production allocation and color feasibility/approval. Dealer should have an extensive color book to browse through.

I had wanted to AE Goodwood Green and was told the same thing about Audi corporate needing to approve your order, even for the pre-approved colors. My dealer said in the past it’s been near impossible to do because corporate makes the process so difficult. They don’t do PTS allocations like Porsche unfortunately.

When the ‘25 order guides were released, I was told AE was no longer available on the RS3, which seems to be the case. I’ve only seen the single Merlin Purple car on here which I think was a Canadian delivery.

Maybe they opened it up again for ‘26, but in any case I think I’ll be pretty happy with Progressive Red, and it saved me $6k. If you wanted to do an AE interior, I was told it’s likely in the $7-8k range. Still a deal compared to Porsche!

As of now there is no exclusive program for the RS3. 25 or 26. So they are incorrect.

And yes, while it does need approval,, it’s an easy process that takes a couple of days. It will ad considerable time to the order. But, the window has to be for such orders on that car and right now, there isn’t even a program nor a timetable for it for US RS3s

Corporate doesn’t make it difficult at all. Your dealer just isn’t interested in doing it because it adds time to the build, and it adds next to zero profit for them.

Dealer orders the car, puts color code in the note section, and any other exclusive requests (for interior, if such a program exists for the car). That’s it. There’s a small team within Audi USA that handles all exclusive orders, and within a day or 2, it’s done.

wow and thanks. although at anywhere near 5900$, I'll be selecting one of the standard ones. that's an obscene price lol

good info here and good to know... although I had no idea it was anywhere near the cost seen above so it's a non issue... not adding that kind of money just to get a different color. but the good news is that it seems my dealer has allocation and is willing to place an order today for a 26 that they believe could be delivered before year end... now I just need to decide if that's what I want to do lol.... they said if I don't create some crazy spec that I might not have to leave a deposit either. I've also bought 4 cars from this group (between audi/bmw next door that they own) so maybe that helps with the not leaving a deposit item, who knows... considering the options now lol.

Ah good to know, well at least it just wasn’t available rather than my dealer being lazy!

It’s not obscene in the least. It’s cheap relatively speaking. Painting these is quite a process.

They are taking 1 singular chassis off the A3/S3 production line of the thousands made, and painting it one color. On top of mixing that color. Automotive paint is not inexpensive anymore. For years and years, maybe even a decade, the price had not changed at all. It went up a couple years ago.

I’d ask for proof of the allocation.

I’ve said many many times over many years here. Lots of dealers will say lots of things to get you to order, in the absence of making an outright sale today. An order, in and of itself, means zilch. Unless they have an allocation to order against. If they don’t, it sits on a waitlist. Till when? No one knows, but at the earliest till they actually have an allocation to submit against.

You thinking you “placed” an order takes you out of the market in their eyes. And that’s all most dealers are looking to do.

    Cover your contingencies
