That's understandable. Porsche, of course, still uses the RS badge for its GT4RS (and also used it in the GT3RS). I knew that Audi's first RS in the mid-nineties was a joint venture with Porsche, but I didn't know that was why they went with the RS designation. Interesting bit of history. I don't intend to de-badge my RS3.

RS3 with miles on it from factory?

Hi all, the new RS3 that got delivered yesterday has 46 miles on it, apparently from the factory doing testing and what not, according to the dealer. Has anyone gotten theirs and it has a similar amount of miles on it? Is this normal?

Very normal for any RS car in particular

Can’t remember the exact mileage but I had similar miles on mine…they test it well at the factory.

Yeah my S4 had way more miles on it than I'd expect from a new car. But I think it's all the testing and Audi logics in moving cars from factory to holding to port to ship then off ship to holding to train/truck etc. Typical is between 10-50 miles states Google AI.

Looking back at posts, has anyone got confirmation on tire differences between dynamic plus and non dynamic optioned cars?

So far, all the regular cars I've seen arrive to North America have had the Potenza Sport tires. I've seen a few Dynamic plus cars now with the P Zero Rs, too, so I assume that is the intended tire for Dynamic plus in North America - but we did see that one guy get Potenzas after ordering Dynamic plus, so I'm not sure what happened there.

    Few questions:

1.) anyone have issues with wireless android auto? i get music skipping every here and there and had it completely crash one me once
2.) i just want to say how terrible and cheap the buttons on the steering wheel are. not a question
3.) anyone new to the RS3 finding the DSG jerky/clunky? especially in comfort/auto the DSG is very sluggish and seems like the clutches are slipping like crazy under light throttle. I even get an occasional metallic clunk when going from reverse to drive and setting off. the transmission seems happier with heavier throttle inputs. this is my first DSG so maybe this is just par for the course.

Thank you all so much for the replies on the mileage! I got worried one of the techs there beat the shit out of the car when they got it LOL. I also confirm I did NOT get the dynamic plus package and I have the Bridgestone potenzas

The clunk noise is odd. Are you coming to a full stop between switching to drive/reverse? Other than that at least for me the car feels very similar to what my GLI with the DSG was like.

I've driven a few 2022-2024 RS3's and I did notice the transmission acted funny when cold. After that, I went online and read that you really need to let the transmission warm up, so I intend on not hammering it until it starts to warm up. What I experienced was 1st to 2nd shifts with a good amount of throttle input caused the car to lose power on the shift, almost like a hiccup. I'm assuming the 2025 has the same transmission/tune so we may see the same.

The dsg is its laziest in comfort and is the least comfortable mode for the dsg. lol

It will also slip a ton after start up. I pretty much refuse to go anywhere until the cold start process is done and the rpms drop down.

DQ500 in the RS3 is decidedly "old school" compared to some of the newer dual clutch transmissions. It will slip the clutches more at lower speeds, especially when the transmission is cold. Coupled with the more laggy torque curve and the soft engine/transmission/subframe mounts, it can certainly feel lazy at times. You will learn its quirks and characteristics with time.

my 24 feels like that every day (#3 question) but yea I just think it's the nature of the beast... although thats just from reading as it's the first real DSG i've ever owned. you do get used to it... sometimes dynamic or RS mode helps as it holds the gears a lot more so less shfiting even at low speeds... it's just a weird thing... it feels very mechanical but 100% this tranny wants to be at full throttle high rpms as then it is a sweet gearbox. Also, at 20k I did do the front diff fluid change and that helped quite a bit.

YEAH! When I first test drove it, I wasn’t sure if it was just a beast or just a totally different experience from my S5, but it’s both really. It feels like it always wants more throttle and I need to get used to being able to drive it calmly under comfort mode and barely even tapping the gas for it not to jerk when I accelerate. Different experience for sure

With regard to losing power between 1st and 2nd, I've experienced that "hiccup" in other cars (though with manual transmissions) because of traction control being enabled. I can't say if that's the case with your RS3, but it might be worth playing with the traction control settings just to see if that's what it is. Also, I agree that it's good practice to let the transmission warm up (as well as the oil temp) before letting 'er rip.

thanks for the responses. sounds like i'll have to adjust a bit to the DSG. its funny because i'm trying to be gentle on the car while its not up to temp. the light throttle seems to make the transmission even more angry
i'll see if i can record the sound of the clunk after going from reverse-> drive (which i do from a full stop re: person who asked). the clunk doesn't happen until i start moving forward + only seems to happen when i leave my garage (implying maybe something to do with it not being warmed up?)

My MK7 GTI is the same way, transmission and fluids need to warm up.

Anyone see the carbon package in person? How do yall feel about it? Is the rear spoiler the same size compared to stock?

I saw it briefly in person at my local dealership. I think 2025’s carbon package is a lot more bang for your buck than the 8Y’s. On the 8Y it was only the mirror housing, side inlays, and the spoiler. For 2025, its all of the above, the rear diffuser, the front air inlets, and also the matte grey wheels. Kinda sucks that getting the whole package is the only way to get the wheels, but it is what it is. I think the carbon spoiler is the same as the 8Y’s.

strange how different markets are so different as to how the car is optioned. Here in Australia the wheels and carbon pack are separate, and whilst I like the carbon pack, not sure if I wanted the roof spoiler long term (looking for a bit more understated). Figure I could always carbon wrap the mirror housings and other bits if I want a bit of carbon bling. The carbon pack was something like another $7k AUD, so not cheap!

This is an older post by now and not specific to DQ500, but should still be very helpful if this is your first DSG. Worth a read.

I pick mine up in the morning. Dynamic Plus, Carbon, Tech packages.... its sitting on Potenzas.

SA snapped a pic, clearly says ceramic on the calipers and Bridgestone Potenza Sport Enliten on the tire.

Seems like it may just be random. I’m in the same boat, Ascari blue/carbon/dynamic and Bridgestone Potenzas…

It is now becoming clear that the Car and Driver article was accurate:

"Finally, a new tire offering by the way of Bridgestone's Potenza Sport or Pirelli's P Zero R—Audi calls them its C-compound—claims to split the difference between the standard summer tires and the hardcore Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R hardcore track rubber. The C-compound shoes promise better wet-weather handling and braking (it didn't rain, so we can't evaluate these claims just yet) while approaching the dry-weather stick of the Trofeo Rs."

I usually don't even get 250 miles on a full tank. lol
Usually at 220-230 miles it's time to fill it up.

I got a message from a friend that works at a dealer saying they had 4 on the lot right now. It was two kemoras, one black, and one kyalami. I feel like they probably never had 4 PFLs on the lot at once so I was surprised to hear they had that many. I only see 2 listed online so they might have the kyalami and a kemora sold already.
