MMI update failed and stuck

Well if you’ve sent my previous thread I was going to update my MMI. Unfortunately things didn’t go according to plan. I used thenavman to get my files. I was updating to K0942_3 but when it got to a certain step, I get “Error communicating with device KBD_FC7:0”. I can click my MMI knob down but I am unable to scroll to cancel the update, I can only push the MMI knob to select the already selected option, which is “Retry” which will retry but continually give this error. I tried with another SD card as well as restating the MMI with no luck. MMI won’t turn off because the update hasn’t been completed nor canceled so my battery is probably going to go flat.

I contacted thenavman but since it’s around closing time in the UK, I’m guessing he won’t respond until tomorrow so I’m posting here to see if anyone has ideas.

Update: My dumbass forgot that my CarPlay was aftermarket, I had gotten so used to it I guess I considered it to just be apart of the car. I popped my MMI out, removed the piggybacks and quadlock piggyback, and reinstalled the cables back into MMI. I retried the update and it went smoothly, and when I reinstalled my CarPlay box I had no problems.

Not sure if this will apply to people who have RSNav, as my CarPlay is from AliExpress but I imagine it possibly could since it piggybacks off existing connections. So I'm leaving this thread here for anyone who has aftermarket CarPlay/RSNav.
