I bought my Ruby from a Jag dealership. It had 10k miles on it, it was brand new. The previous owner traded in for a Jag sports car.
When I say it's brand new, it was brand new. I mean, it looked and smell like something right out of the Audi dealership. Everything was matt finished. Nothing was shiny. It came with 75k mile audi-care with it, which I took advantage of by not modding my car until then.
I spent the last 8 years more on the maintenance than going fast.
- Front suspension has completely been replaced - Meyler HD kit
- KW Coilovers
- replaced thermostat, water pump twice
- all of the coolant pipes have been replace twice - including the ones underneath the supercharger
- coolant tank replaced twice
- belts are new
- new wheels
- always ran Continental DWS
- coil pack and iridium spark plugs replaced once and have another set ready to go in soon.
- Brand new xenon headlight bulbs (these were expensive for what it is)
- Liqui Moly engine flush
- Redline Fuel cleaner every oil change
- Supercharger oil has been changed - off the car change with all gasket renewed
- much more maintenance than performance
- Maintenance on schedule with Audi-care
- All the little things
It's IE stage 2 ECU/TCU. Single pulley, IE intake. Didn't want it to go crazy on this car. Stock cat, stock exhaust.
I love my S4. It looks brand new still (little bit shiny now), but nothing ever squeaked, or made noise. Everything is perfect.
I bought a car recently. My wife wants a SUV. I know I won't get too much money for this car - at least if it's according to the normal market.
So the question is, do I try to sell this? Or keep it? I'm seeing $25k for similar year and mileage now at the dealership - not the same as above list dictates. I just don't want it to be $5k if I don't sell it today later. At least that's what my logical side is telling me. Man, so many trips with this car. Always reliable when it needed to be... 100k miles of pure trouble free (expect for that one shop in Maryland) bliss.
Only thing that I keep thinking about is the timing belt guide. It's off-the-chasis work that will cost around $8k. I keep thinking to myself, $8k is cheaper than a new car (Not that matters, because I just bought a Z06). Otherwise, this car is perfect.
Did you know that you can fit a 65" TV in the trunk (in a box) of the Audi S4 with the rear seats down? Not one other car can do this, even two class above! At least that's what the Best Buy guy told me shaking his head that the TV won't fit in my car.
My Evo died in an accident. I regret selling my S2k to pay off my student loan debt... I know this car has a shelf life, but I just can't seem to let it go...
I don't know why I have to be sad thinking about letting go of chunk of old metal...
