Torque Management/Limiter on Tuned S4? Is this a real thing?

    Hello

I have noticed on my APR stage 1 tune S4 with a 6MT, that if I'm say, in second gear and have it wound to maybe 3,000, then floor it, at around 4,500-5,000 rpm the engine will all of a sudden go almost limp-like. Feels like I'm putting the brakes on or something. It's not missing. I've done it with the ECS off.

Anyway, I called APR to make sure something wasn't wrong, and right away the guy said that's the torque management cutting power to the wheels due to the high torque output.
So, I've never heard of this before, and certainly I've never seen it occur on any Youtube videos of people punching it and it goes limp. We're talking stage 1 here too. The guy was like, we know it does it, wish it didn't, but not much we can do.
Not that I don't believe him- he seemed to know what I was talking about instantly, but I guess my question is, anybody experience this? It should be darn near ubiquitous. I just can't understand why I never hear or or see it on videos of people pushing their S4 a lot hard than this!

Thanks for any info you may have for me!

News to me here, never heard of this. Had APR on my B8 manual and never felt that, thing pulled pretty solid all the way to redline. Have you tried it with traction control off?

Yeah, tried it with traction control to Sport and also all the way off. Doesn't do it every time, but close. I may call again and see if I get a different guy.. Doesn't make much sense to me.
    Thanks for your reply.

Are you low on fuel? What you describe can happen when the fuel sloshes to the back of the tank. I’ve had my do it a couple times when low. Now I just never floor it unless it’s at least quarter tank.

If you have plenty of fuel record a few logs of it happening and post them up here.

I have to confess ignorance, but I don't know how to log anything, or if it's even something I have the ability to do. I do have an OBD11. Would that work? If explaining it is too tedious, just direct me to the info and I can learn!
Also, FYI no codes and I did re-gap my plugs.
Never thought about the fuel tank. I'll pay attention to that.
Maybe I need new coil pack(s)? No other issues with the car- maybe it's an early sign they are going out?? Has 60,000 mi on it.
Clearly, sounds like this torque limiter explanation I got is maybe not a real thing

On a auto car it is a thing. Not on a 6MT
