    2001 AMU 6MT - Hello TT-ers!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Picked up a clean southwest model with only 88k miles back in March - 99% stock at purchase but the mods have begun only my 2nd Four-Ring ride but probably the 18th VAG vehicle since my first Mk1 Golf GTI way back when (over 30 yrs ago - dang I am old!) anyway I have a basic plan for the project that includes a "stage 2" tune from Unitronic (say Bonjour a Montreal!) with a full turbo-back catted 3" system from 42DD (on order since early March!) but as far as power and torque goes anything over the stock specs is fine with me - I have a stage 2+ 2013 Q5 (see that forum) that is my fast daily so the TT is just for fun and a more affordable version of the Mk4 R32 that I owned for about 5 years prior to divorcing...

I am a suspension/brake type so the TT will see the so-called R32 upgrade to 17z front calipers with 334mm rotors (best street pads anyone?) with stock rears to start - the wheels have already been sorted out with 18x8.5" (sweet spot width IMO) and spacers TBD - front control arm refresh with new OEM Bilstein touring shocks/struts and H&R blue street springs plus their front/rear swaybar upgrade kit!

More to do but for now pics...

    Hi sQ5,
    this blog is almost dead.
Nice looking TT. Still Have it.?
Unfortunately I don't have any answers to your questions.
Im just getting started on my 04 coupe 225. BEA. I did have a stage 2 reprogrammed about 8 years ago and it was peppier but not that significant. I think the last time I drove it 2.5 years ago it was loosing boost somewhere. then now engine is pulled and doing all the maintenance replacements.
