I'm no longer following these forums however I had the app and decided to peruse. I had this issue a couple of times with our A3. It was determined to be a broken wire set for the camera system. Apparently there is no replacement kit I can get from any of the dealers in my area. I then simply crimped all the wires together leveraging barrels and has been working since 2023.

You need to remove the paneling from the trunk right side. There are some screws and anchors that require removal.

    Good luck.

Apologies for the delay. Yes crimped with the smallest barrel. In my case I was able to cut the barrels to a smaller size. Crimped the copper plus the video cable which was a pain in the ass.

Side note, not sure why I'm not seeing any alerts about responses here. Apologies again .

I'll have to look for them however today the backup video camera failed for a 4th time in 6 years. I had to start over and this time I soldered each wire including the video cable, the inner copper strands and the shield.

I'm not sure how Audi pooched this design but it's brutal. I'll have to look at the Honda to see how it's fed through from the trunk door through the rear deck etc.

If this thing fails again I'll have to design a plan of attack, somehow I'll need to physically remove all the felt tape these wires are wrapped in which makes it extremely difficult.

I'm in Ontario and three dealerships could not find the cable from the camera to to video module. It seems the part was available at one point but no longer. They were indicating I would have to purchase the entire rear camera and cable from the front unit to the rear video module. I think it was nearly a grand. I believe the actual part can be purchased from Europe via Kuftech I believe.

Hope it works out for you and others.
