New to the forum, not new to Audis. I did my due diligence searching the problem I'm having, not finding anything specific.
My go-to shop confirmed the crazy idling and limp mode problem I was having was due to throttle body failure. I installed a new Bosch (077133062A) throttle body, and did a manual reset, once with the battery connected which got me nowhere, once with it disconnected. That worked for about a week, then the P0121 code started getting thrown again, and limp mode followed. However the car is still running better than before I installed the new assembly.
I then brought it to the shop, they did a VAGCOM reset, adding the new throttle body to the system. All was fine for about 3 days, now it's back to limp mode and the same code being thrown. I have to think that something in addition to the TB is failing. ECU? TB position sensor? Maybe only a shaman can help??
It might be worth mentioning that this follows the timing chains, guides and tensioners service, along with a ton of extra parts that needed replacing. All done by the shop mentioned. I'll be returning to the shop for this problem, but wanted to see if anyone has any ideas on what's going on. Thanks in advance.
