LiquiMoly Engine Flush Poll

Hey guys,

Our Q7 is using oil at 95K miles. Average OCI has been about 7,300 miles since new. Until now, it seems the car had used about 3/4 quart every change. Now it seems to be increasing above 1 quart. Wondering if a flush would help the oil rings seal a bit more.

If anything it may make the leak worse. Could loosen a buildup/deposit and cause further seepage.

I used it on my q5 once at lower miles, around 65/70k. Oil came out super dark but otherwise didn't notice much difference and I wasn't dealing with any leaks at the time. If it's a 3.0T supercharged look at the rear of the engine. Upper timing covers might be leaking. Common 3.0T issue.

Thanks for the comment. I plan to change oil this weekend and will investigate potential leak at the rear/upper timing covers - and all other places I can see directly, with mirror and scope/video.

What oil do you currently use?
My s6 and a6 use to burn oil when use the oem Castrol and Mobil 1 euro formula.
I burn less oil when I switched to liquimoly (blue bottle)
The car will burn oil just not as bad in my opinion.

Yamaha ring free will help free up the stuck rings and may help reduce oil consumption. Look it up and see if you think it'll help

Thanks for the comments guys. Her Q7 was on a diet of Castrol from the dealer until we went out of warranty and the AudiCare pre-paid she wanted with the car. Have tried a few, including Mobil 0-40 (I think). My A6 is tuned to stage 2 single and I've found most UOAs had come back just fine after about 5-6k Miles. Notably. Motul 5w-40 XCess doesn't seem to burn off at 5K-6k intervals. I jut put Motul X-Clean 5w-40 in the Q7 and I'm going to measure consumption every couple weeks over the summer and fall months. Another interesting point is that I didn't drain and fill. Instead, i used a top-sider vacuum style extractor. and I got nearly 8 liters out of the car which showed that is was nearly topped off via MMI. Hence, I'm not sure if the readings are accurate. I expected to get about 7 liter out.
