You vs the Guy she told you not to worry about

This is NOT a Drop in for 3 of the 4 hangers. The passenger side center is a double slide post you can slip on and off like other hangers on other vehicles.
I had to drill out the drivers side center hanger as its a pressed in fitting. (Ill have to come back to this and show deconstructed photos later...this was done on my first S6, and I swapped it straight over with the exhaust on this S6)
These photos of the center setup are all I have right now

I started this because the AWE Track CBE was rubbing on my cross brace after the center muffler section. Not because the AWE is heavier, or improper install, but because the OE hangers are prone to stretch, and they have lots of lateral play. The entire outer band is actually aluminum, but the center is SOFT rubber
you can slightly make it out here:

The quick and dirty for the rears
Youll need the following:
x2 1.5" or longer exhaust hangers with 12mm ports for the posts
x2 exhaust hanger bracket
aluminum cutting blade mini hacksaw
x2 12mmx60mm 1.75 pitch threaded bolt
x8 12mm washers
x2 12mm 1.75 pitch locking nut
assorted drill bits (I used only 3....a pilot bit, a light bore, and finally a 1/2" to make the full hole)
light sanding paper to deburr anything after drilling and cutting
Drill
Pliers (Dealers choice)
I had a tabletop vice to help hold while I cut, but its not needed if you just want to ugga dugga it
You'll start with this:

You will need to break it down any way you see fit to get it to the base aluminum housing with no posts. I cut the OE hanger off, then worked on the center post by getting the mini hacksaw between the body and the hanger.
like this:

once its free you'll have to brake the small side tabs off...I used a basic linesman pliers to snap them off.
sand it flat so the washers can lay flat and to give you a working area that you can drill into.
I didn't center punch....I just sent it with a small pilot drill bit and made it work on hopes and dreams following the full send: FAFO method.
once you drill up to 1/2" you'll want to sand everything down to deburr and make smooth surfaces. Its aluminum, so its going to be VERY fast sanding and takedown, so be mindful of your grit. I used 350 grit and it was a bit tedious, but it worked out.
should look like this:

Take your bolt, 4 washers, and the polyurethane hanger and the locking nut. Place on washer on the bolt head, slide it into the first assembly drilled port, then slide another washer. Then put the poly hanger and another washer. Slide it through, then the final washer and then the nut. So its bolt, washer, housing, washer, hanger, washer, housing, washer, nut.
resembles this:

Tighten down, and you should be able to free rotate the hanger because of the washers.
slide it onto the hanger post on the exhaust section then push the entire assembly lined up to the single 13mm post that mounts the housing to the car. I have AWE locking clamps on the bar ends to help keep it from slipping out.
looks like this:

if you are with an aftermarket exhaust with slip pipes and clamps, you will want to adjust everything to make sure you have final position and tighten everything down.
(1.5" is nearly the same as the stock before its stretched)

Here is the before from the rear:

Here is the after from the rear:

slightly tighter in the pocket, but I wont have any lateral movement anymore with the tighter poly hangers.
and the full specs for the nerds in the back:

(should I have used a caliper...yes. I just couldn't find it.)
