I've looked thru all seven (7) pages of threads - found nothing on this question.
Here is the history: For the last few years, and 3-4 oil changes in my 06 S4 Avant, (original/still owner) - since the first use of the Myty-Vac oil extractor, down the dip-stick tube & a slight uplift on the right-rear, (to send all the old oil to the left-front corner of the "cake-sheet" oil pan) - which proved, fully more effective at full removal - (first test - not a drop - out the drain plug hole...!) - I put a new crush washer on the drain plug, and ever since have not touched it.
Question: Is there a sensor in the reset "system", that the drain plug removal - allows - a proper "reset" of the oil change mileage, and removal of the 'SERVICE?' dash light appearance - even though - the Green "OK" - always lights upon key turn/start-up ?
I have tried ALL the methods to reset after an oil change - initially they "seem" to engage - but 50-100 miles down the road, no joy in proper functions !
Please, if you have experienced this, found an answer, have an answer, or have further insight as to why and or how to remedy - leave a post/thread in reply.
It's just annoying - there is zero indications there is Any reason for "SERVICE" !
Thank you.
