Post Q5, SQ5 B9.5 Matrix LED Headlight Activation Information...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
With the advent of new technology comes the unfortunate side effect of regulations that do not allow North American owners to have the full functionality of what that their car can offer. Luckily there are ways to activate items that are not generally available for the North American market and one of the most useful and advanced are the full matrix high beams that so many new Audi models come with but do not function in North America. These can now be activated along with some other lighting functions depending on your model and factory fitted equipment:

    • Genuine Audi OE Software + Parameters
    • Full Matrix LED High Beam Functionality
    • Full Laser High Beam Functionality (if applicable)
    • All Factory Systems Stay Fully Functional
    • No Wiring or Physical Installation Required
    • Remote Calibration Included
    • VAS Interface Included
    • Instructions for Software Installation Included
Website Link: Matrix LED Headlight Activation Product Information <-Click Link for More Information

    Information:
A little disappointed with your matrix LED headlights only acting like standard LED headlights? This package has the tools and software coupled with a remote session to activate the full matrix LED and/or laser headlight functionality for your North American model to get the most out of your headlights. This only works with models that have factory fitted matrix LED headlights. Not sure how matrix high beams function, please take a moment to watch the video above.

    Confirming Fitment:
If you are unsure if these product applies to your model please contact and supply your VIN so you can be informed if this applies to your vehicle: [email protected] *Note this product only applies to 2021+ Q5, SQ5 post-facelift models.

    Ordering:
Ordering is completed through the website with the product link above. A VAS interface will be sent out for your purchase or rental depending on your selection. VAS rentals are supplied with a UPS return label (*note that VAS rentals are only available within North America). Instructions are included for setting up the remote session which can take as little as 15 minutes but can take longer for 2024 models which require additional work to activate.

In the event that a future dealership visit removes the full matrix functionality this can be re-activated at no labor cost. The VAS interface is required for re-activating after a dealership visit that removes this functionality so it can be beneficial to purchase that interface for future use. If you choose to rent the VAS interface a deposit will be held until the interface is returned within 15 days of departure to your location. Once the interface is returned the deposit will be voided.

    Questions:
If you have any questions or needs other than those posted above please don't hesitate to PM or email: [email protected]

    Cheers!

It’s a bit shady to advertise it as $699 when there is a required $300 dongle. Just price it at the minimum of $999 and make the single options free.

There is the ability to buy the VAS5054A interface for $300 and keep it, then it's $999 and the customer keeps the interface forever.

However if you rent a VAS5054A interface the total paid is $699 for activation.

As noted in the post above and the product info on the website when a customer rents the interface an authorization (not a full charge) is held as a deposit for the rental until the interface is returned.

Once the rental interface is returned the authorization which is only a deposit is voided and voila only $699 for the activation!

    Cheers,

    Recently Frequently Asked Question:

    Q. Am I being charged $300 for renting the VAS interface?

    A. No, only a $300 deposit is being taken on checkout and held for the VAS interface rental. When the VAS interface is returned after your rental the $300 deposit is voided completely.

Hopefully that clears up any questions on the rental deposit.

Alex - if I order the dongle to rent, how long does it take to ship the dongle to the end user? I'm in WA state.

For renting, it depends on how many VAS units are out in the wild at the time. Currently there are 15 rental units and only 2 available to ship from here right at this moment, but I see 2 more on their way back. Depends a bit on the quickness of customers to schedule to activation and return the interface. Sadly some folks take liberties on the 15 day timeline so occasionally there is a wait for rentals.

Sorry for the slower reply as Audizine doesn't seem to be sending notifications consistently or at all at the moment. If you ever have a question that needs a reasonably quick answer email is best at the moment because of this: [email protected]

Audi is moving to a stricter security protocol which some of you have already run into this while trying to code simple things on your 2024 models. Due to this stricter protocol we have been preparing so that the activation service and other remote procedures are never interrupted.

We have moved away from the venerable, tried and true VAS5054A interface to the more advanced DoIP capable VAS6154A interface. These new VAS6154A interfaces will make activations faster plus after quite a bit of testing and sorting all of these interfaces that come with your order from Europrice will be fully updated to handle the newest SFD2 security protocols which are coming soon.

This means new activations and any re-activations for current customers will occur without skipping a beat when the newest security protocols are put into place, plus shorter activation times!

Don't get caught out with the wrong or non updated equipment that won't be able to activate everything that you want or even anything at all when SFD2 is fully implemented.

Since the number of models and model specific options has grown a fair amount each group will now have their own dedicated page for information regarding matrix activation. This will hopefully reduce any confusion as to what options, if any, apply to each model.

Can you do it on those of us who have SFD2 that seems to be unlockable?

Yes! If you do have a fairly locked down 2024-2025 model these activations can be done.

There have been questions lately about how a VIN plays a part in matrix activations (and other processes) and it appears there's some misinformation being passed around that should be corrected...

    - How it Works

Above is an overview of how Audi's diagnostic network functions. When every car is finished in production a Specified vehicle configuration is saved with Audi on their Carport database. This Specified vehicle configuration contains all of the data, coding, adaptations and other information related to the car and is tied to the car by VIN.

The Actual vehicle configuration will be the current state that it is sitting in your driveway. So if any firmware, parameters, coding, adaptations or other changes have been made your Actual vehicle configuration now varies from what is saved with Audi on the Carport database.

If during a dealership visit a complete Specified versus Actual comparison is performed the diagnostic system will detect the changes that have been made throughout the car because the Actual configuration of your car varies from the Specified configuration on the Carport database. When this occurs the car will be reverted to Specified configuration.

This is when any changes to your coding, adaptations, engine tunes, activations, etc. get wiped.

    - Matrix activations are supposed to be specifically tied or built to your VIN: FALSE

With matrix activations and other processes performed through a VAS interface ALL of the data being used is identical per module. e.g. Simply put if the part number of the module that is being flashed or parameterized is the same between 2, 3 or 2000 cars the exact same data is being used. There is no VIN specific data or data altered to match your VIN, just data that is proper for the module that is being worked with.

    - Matrix activations can be tied to your VIN so they will never be wiped by a dealership ever: FALSE

No work of this nature can be reported by a third party to Audi's Carport servers to change the Specified configuration of your car. There is a specific process that requires an SVM code that comes with Audi supplied retrofits, repairs, recalls, updates and changes that will report back to Audi's servers to change your Specified configuration.

All third party matrix activations and processes do not have SVM codes because those only come from Audi. No third party company offering activations or processes like these can change your car's Specified configuration on Audi's servers.

Don't be fooled by any company or person claiming this as it's not possible to do.

    - There is a chance that a matrix activation from Europrice will get wiped when you visit a dealership: TRUE

There is a possibility that when you take your car to a dealership that a matrix activation will be wiped, it's rare at the moment. It's not common that the complete Specified versus Actual process that fully reverts your car back to stock is run every time your car has work done at a dealership.

However if your matrix activation does get wiped we've got you covered with lifetime free re-activation so long as you own the car. (If you did rent a VAS interface there is a $35 re-rental charge and round trip shipping, zero cost if you purchased a VAS interface)

Hopefully this helps clarify a few bits of misinformation and was also a bit enlightening on how Audi's diagnostic systems function.

If anyone has any questions on this, other aspects of the diagnostic system or activations please feel free to post here or email: [email protected]

    Cheers!

Correct, the VCDS (Vagcom) unfortunately cannot do this type of activation. The VAS interface is the factory dealership interface.

If you paid $1000 then you own the VAS interface. Reactivations are free.

When I had the headlights activated at the discount price of $599, I used the dongle then returned it, and my $300 deposit was refunded.

The matrix activation itself is $699.

Well over a thousand matrix activations in the books and so far have not heard from a customer about a warranty being voided or having warranty related issues.

You can purchase the VAS interface to keep for $300.

Or you can opt to rent the VAS interface for an authorization hold of $300 which is voided when you return the interface.

VAS interfaces are in stock and ready to go for rentals and purchases!
