2023 Q7 Brake Controller wiring location

Does anyone know where the brake controller wiring is hiding on my ‘23 Q7? I’ve seen in the past, the wiring was hanging out around the steering column but it is def on there on mine. We do have to oem tow package that came on the car when we bought it. I’m sure it’s there, I just cannot locate it. I’m assuming it’s behind the hood latch, but before I try and remove that panel (looks to be a pain unless someone has a good way to do it) I wanted to confirm it’s there. Also, if some has installed a brake controller, were did you find is the best place to mount it. Thanks!

The brake controller wiring harness in my '23 is in approximately the same location as in my former '17 Q7. Mine was on the near the firewall to the left of the steering column. it might be a little hard to locate because the connector on the end of the cable is covered with a piece of foam. I mounted the control unit on the knee panel to the left of the driver; not too obtrusive, but easy to reach to use it manually in case of emergency. Ran the cable through the space between the knee panel and steering column.

Hey did you manage to get the kick panel under the dash removed and locate the brake controller wiring? In my 2022 looks like I need to remove a significant part of the dash to remove that panel. Any advice would be appreciated.
