jhm carrier bearing replacement failed after 4k miles

Hello just wanted to share. Bought the jhm carrier bearing fix for my 16 s6 with stage 1 apr stock everything except intake. I purchased jhm carrier bearing fix because it was half the price of the other ones and it failed after 4k miles I have attached pictures to show. it was loose and rubbed thru, I only noticed because I was checking under the car and noticed while shaking the driveshaft it wasn't firm like it was when I installed it.

The only reason I posted this is because I tried to save money but now I have to do the job 2 times and I still have to buy the expensive one

We have vehicles with far more than 4k miles on the carrier insert without issue. Like I said, shoot us an email with your order info and we will happily warranty it for you.

Speaking of the JHM Carrier Bearing, mine originally came with the stiff solid bushing which introduced unwanted NVH. JHM happily sent out the hollow/soft bushing, but now the vibration comes sooner at 70mph and goes away shortly after, its a very uncertain feeling. Bolts were snugged up by the shop over two months ago when they installed it along with a brand new driveshaft. Driving without the JHM Carrier Bearing has no vibration whatsoever. Any idea what's going on?

Its an issue with unbalanced driveshafts from the factory, unfortunately. There is so much slop with the factory bushing that you don't feel the driveshaft until you stiffen it up. Unfortunately, its pretty common

Thanks Jake, I guess it will ultimately come down to whether or not I want the extra reinforcement or uninstalling the carrier bushing altogether. The vibration isn't all too bad - its been greatly reduced ever since going with the rubber hollowed bushing replacement. However, its taken away the "comfort of the ride at higher speeds - feels more like a sports car now minus an aggressive exhaust, lol

Luckily its easily reversed. Other people find out about their driveshaft after they cut off the carrier for the other brand units, and don't have a way to go back without buying a whole new driveshaft assembly
