Bluetooth issues with iPhone 15/iOS17.0.1 and MMI3G

I got my new iPhone about 3 weeks ago. It has not been able to maintain a connection with the car. When I get in, it will pair and I can use it, but after about 2 minutes, it disconnects. I have tried to unpair/repair it several times, but this keeps happening. I didn't have this problem with my previous iPhone that was a 12 with the last version of iOS16 on it.

Anyone else experience this?

I am pretty sure my MMI has never been udpated. I know I haven't done it so unless the dealership did at a scheduled service more than 7 years ago since I do my own now, it hasn't been updated.
