    Question weird gas pedal click?

Alright, so I've been having this problem for a while now, but it's now starting to bother me.

When I first turn on the car, put it into 'D', and then rest my foot on the gas pedal - I can feel something (like a piece of metal) rubbing the gas pedal for a second and a 'click' sound. It only happens this one time and then is fine until the next time I turn on the car. It's almost like something is disengaging? It's really weird and was wondering if anyone had a similar problem or knows of what could be wrong. The car seems to be running just fine otherwise; just that weird rubbing and sound. Any ideas?

Do you use the e-brake when you park?

Nope. Just have it in park.

You are probably feeling the ABS initializing. The noise and vibration is intermittent. It's normal.

Yep, I notice that the vibration from the ABS makes my HID's go a "fuzzy" for a second when it happens at night. I think the ABS is "priming" basically. And it is weird that it doesn't happen when you hit the brake the first time, it happens the first time you hit the accelerator.

I know it will do it in reverse as well, but I don't know whether it depends on throttle position or vehicle speed. Anybody know?

My A4 only does that on the first drive off, and not every time. I don't think it depends on anything except the ABS controller needing to initialize after a few seconds as the wheels start turning.

Interesting. I didn't even think about the ABS. Thanks for the help, everyone!

How can the ABS affect the gas pedal? Looking at a wiring diagram and it shouldn't have anything to do with the gas pedal.
