Bull-X Resonator Delete pipe kit - EMDAuto distributor

I wanted to share a more affordable option than what's typically available on the market for achieving a resonator delete. I reached out to EMD when I noticed their stock was depleted. They kindly agreed to purchase some and inform me upon their arrival. The installation process was relatively quick and straightforward using a sawzall and a metal blade. It took about 30-45 minutes (made easier with access to a lift). Most of the time was spent ensuring correct parts and proper fitment.

Now, onto the most crucial aspects: cost and results, right? The kit's cost and value are unbeatable; it's priced at less than half due to the exclusion of the front part, which saves on expenses. I appreciate the ease of potentially reverting back, thanks to the proven heavy-duty clamp (surpassing the factory's clamp in strength, impressively). Like the majority of those who have performed a resonator delete on the C8 RS6/RS7 models, I also wish for a slightly louder sound, but I'm hesitant to opt for a high flow downpipes to achieve that. Catted downpipes at times can be too loud, especially for a V8 like this.

I wish there were intermediate options like 600-cell cat downpipes. Anyway, here are some photos. By the way, they still have a few kits in stock now; I believe they'll sell out quickly.

I would really like todo this. My only thing is knowing "where" to saw...This might beat going to a fab shop. One quoted me $600 for the resonators and muffler delete, but....They weld the parts on.

This option is good because like you mentioned, being able to revert back to stock easily.

Super easy to find location of cut. Once center alum brace is removed I slide the rear sleeve clamp revealing the end of the resonator pipe that meets the rear section. I simple then lined up the new pick and marked the front for where to cut, its that simple. Cut and install.

I installed these on my RS7 in June 2022 at The EMD shop. It took longer than I expected, apparently something wasn’t lining up properly. Eventually it was done and I starting driving back home when heard loud clunking noises. Called the shop and they offered me to drive back so they can fix, but I already was too far and decided to go home, check first before driving back.

Got back into garage and checked the pipes: both front EMD clamps were completely loose. I took the car to my friend’s shop, raised it and discovered both EMD clamps were damaged. What happened is that when you start tightening, the inner lip of the clamp should slide under the outer enclosure to seal the entire gap, but those sleeves rolled instead and wouldn’t allow the clamps to be tightened and seal properly.

We also discovered that the cuts could be at least 0.5” longer, but that wasn’t causing any issues. We decided to replace the EMD clamps with factory ones instead of replacing with the same design. Ordered a couple of them, replaced and everything has been perfect afterwards.

I was in communication with the shop during the entire time by providing all the findings and details. They are great and very appreciative and immediately refunded the cost of the clamp replacement and took notes what has happened.

I am pretty sure it should be fine by now, but wanted to share with you to pay attention when tightening the clamps to make sure the sleeves aren’t rolling but smoothly sliding under the clamps.

I really like this design as it doesn’t require any welding and, if needed, can be reverted 100% back to factory. Without two silencers, the sound is absolutely fantastic in RS mode: not excessively loud but perfectly balanced. I know many prefer getting rid of the third silencer as well, but I am glad I didn’t. With the third silencer in place, it is slightly throatier and deeper on Comfort mode, but does not grab unnecessary attention when you need to drive quietly.

Totally could foresee this. Been doing mods like this for a while now, you never know whom is working at those type of shops hence I kind of like doing my own work that is easy like this. To me the cuts were easy, I did measure twice though ;-) Regardless I agree, the more I drive it the more like it it, it does make a difference. Will never sound like my wives Sq7 with res deletes from factory but still sounds good.

So a linear quesiton but different component! What about muffler delete. Is there a company that makes the product...I've been looking but cannot find anything...It seems this one may have to be custom done at a fabrications shop.

Has anyone has their mufflers deleted? And if so? is there a big difference between the resonator delete and the resonator/muffler delete?

Its been done on the C7's, I would give a look there to hear and get some feed back. Personally I would never since it has to give off one hell of a resonance (drone). Personally I'm still not 100 percent happy with this mod, not that it doesn't help give some sound since it does. But it only gives more resonance / drone added which is given off the belief of more sound. There is no added throaty sound which is created by mufflers. Personally would like to hear SPL LM series one resonators in place of the stock resonators.

congrats, you'll enjoy it. BTW after exhaust cools down from the first drive or two, go back to the supplied BullX clamps and use an impact wrench.

So I got the resonator Delete installed. For the sake of time I got it done at a shop.

Definitely notice a difference in sound. I was hoping for a bit more but I'm happy for the outcome...

I'm really debating on dong the muffler delete....I will probably not do the downpipes for fear of voiding the warranty....Though the local dealer is cool, and they say they are somewhat lenient...They always aren't for sure definite on teling me if I do something it's covered...Which is typical...So for now I have a JB4 piggyback I will install...And I just installed a Maxton Designs Gloss Black Body kit...I also have a inno roof rack that's gloss black, which I may wrap nardo grey at some point.

Also on a Same/But Different note...I Got the Berger JB4 I'm gong to install...

Though I love the power, I think it needs "a little bit more"

I also installed a Maxton Kit "gloss black" And I have the links where I can use active suspension

...Only additional thing I may do is intake, but they are crazy expensive right now. Unless Bull-X Makes an intake at a decent price, hahaha.

I'd love to do downpipes, and fab out the mufflers to straight pipe it...But swapping back to stock might be an issue if something pops up and I need to take it to the dealer for "warranty" work.

So I'm getting leaking/rattling in the pipes...I had it professionally installed andthe shop advised that they can't make it any tighter.

I reached out to EMD, and they advised to get new clamps.

So I just purchased these and I'll get these installed in hopes of the leaking/rattling will stop

I had an issue like this on a prior exhaust system. Try a few of these clamps. they work very well for sealing. https://www.truckpipesusa.com/produc...mp-ez-3ss.html
