    B8.5 S5 Stage 1 Tune

I am looking to go Stage 1 on my b8.5 s5, I’ve had the car for almost 6 months now and I feel I am ready for more power. I have been looking at the different brands that do ECU/TCU tunes and don’t know which brand to go with so I am looking for input. Another question I have is is the TCU tune worth it as well or just ECU. Trans currently feels pretty good but not 100% optimal. Let me know, thanks

I have EPL. Both ECU and TCU. I recommend doing both as the TCU tunes unlock extra revs that really will showcase the power gains. As far as I know, EPL servers have shut down so it no longer exists. I’ve heard plenty positive of Integrated Engineering and 034 for tuning. Couldn’t go wrong with either of them.

I see 034 and IE recommended a lot as well and it seems like both are solid. Just a heads up, I think recently (it might've ended now) 034 had a discount on tunes and I'm fairly certain IE will do a labor day sale which is ~10% off.

I've got 034 ECU & TCU tune. Lots of launch things you can do with the 034 tune but I never launch my car. I've got a JHM tune in my RS5 and it's a great tune, heard good things about their 3.0t tune from A6 guys but not a lot on the S4 or S5 forums run it, gotta say they don't advertise there 3.0t stuff like they do for the 4.0tt and the RS5.
The 034 sale I see goes on until 8/18. I think it's 10% off, not a huge amount but always better than full price.

The main reason for a TCU tune is to raise the torque limit, which is only essential for stage 2. Check on what a tuner actually does in their TCU tune before buying it.
Have you looked at stage 2 and decided against it? If you have a stage 2 with uprated crank pulley then you can avoid OE pulley failure as well as have the extra power and torque. Depending on where you live and how you drive a "mild" stage 2 (ratio less than 3) doesn't really need cooling upgrades.
