So, I have a RS 5 that I have a small window to get my PPI done in. I have built several vehicles over the years and know in general what to look for, but is there anything specific to look for on a 2015 RS 5? The car has 19,000 miles, no check engine lights, the convertible works great, it drives great but I still should look it over really well. The carfax shows no damage or accidents. I have access to a lift to get the car up in the air to look under it. Any thoughts?

I got it up on the lift. The rack is leaking and the car has been 75% repainted, bondo in passenger door. But overall it looks great! Really I wanted this car to be awesome. I’m very sad it has had this much work done.

Did a Carfax reveal the damage? Carfax is pretty good with records but not perfect. Low miles is nice but as you found, seals can go bad just sitting. Check out the A/C system, without the refrigerant and Compressor oil flowing through the system, A/C seals can get dry and leak too. The sealant on the engine cases is pretty good and shouldn't leak for a long time, Valve cover gaskets may but they aren't too difficult to change. If you purchase it I'd go ahead and do all the fluids, DSG has MTL & ATF, rear Diff has MTL & ATF. (MTL=Manual Transmission Fluid), ATF is obvious. In the DSG there is a conventional Automatic type of pan filter plus a small cylindrical cartridge filter in the plastic housing bolted up to the side. Of course Brake fluid flush too as it can still absorb moisture just sitting. Oil does oxidize just sitting, less so obviously on a car that is garaged compared to one sitting outside exposed to larger temp extremes.

Ac blows really cold which is great. Being that it has been painted will that take a big hit when I trade it in if I do ever? :) I know dealers beat you up on trades but I am not sure how they look at paint touch ups? I really do like the car "A LOT" No carfax nor autocheck shows any damages at all.
Could it just have been a touch up and how hard in the panther black crystal to match?

This car will probably end back up for sale at Carvana again. I am going to exchange it. I hate to see it go but there are just to many little things with it for the premium price. It is a beautiful car that looks more like at 40-50,000 mile car underneath than a 19,000 mile car. Now we found around !/2" of little pea gravel sitting around the strut area on the passenger side both in front and behind the strut. There is a dirty type substance on drivers side engine bay area, almost like it was in a flood? But, here again the car runs perfect. I did open the coolant lid and the coolant is probably 1" below the minimum marking inside of the coolant tank. The coolant is like a deep rust color. Not sure if that is normal audi color for coolant?

From what I know, Audi coolant should be a nice neon kind of light red, fluorescence even (if that makes sense). Go with your gut man, if it looks and feels 'fishy', let it go.

Carvana is picking up the Audi tomorrow. I took it to a body shop that primarily deals in German cars. They used a mill gauge to check the paint thickness and there is bondo in the passenger door about 1/2" thick, bondo rear quarter panel, front driver fender and very light paint where there was new paint added. The shop recommended new rear quarter, passenger door skin and possible front fender depending on the overall hidden damage. I asked about the engine and he was surprise it was only 19,000 miles on the car due to the condition of how it looks. So if you all see it on Carvana... run unless they want like $35,000 for it.
