Lower screen top row blank buttons?

Hey all, I just got my RS6 today and one thing I noticed is there are some blank buttons on the top part of the lower screen.
Can I assign other buttons here? It would be nice to have heated steering wheel, or to raise/lower the car here.

You can but not any hvac controls. Heated steering wheel has to be one of the configurable bottom buttons. Not all features can be shortcut on the top row either. You can try dragging an option in an MMI menu to the bottom to see if the interface will allow you to shortcut it. I don't think you are gonna be able to get raise/lower as a shortcut but I could be wrong!

I have my interior lighting colors and tpms monitoring shortcut.

So you just press and hold from the top and drag it to the bottom screen?
Is there any indication of a setting being able to be set there? OR should I just try everything and see what works lol.

Yeah, press hold and drag towards and then off the bottom edge of the top screen. If it sticks, it can go in the top shortcut row on the lower LCD, if not, it can't lol. I haven't seen any indication of whether a MMI setting can be set as a shortcut or not...if I had to wager a guess it has to be something directly accessible from an MMI menu that you can press, hold and drag (case in point the lighting and TPMS shortcuts I have). This is why I don't think you will be able to set the lower/raise as a shortcut button since that functionality is included within a settings category and not directly accessible from an MMI menu (if I recall correctly).

I believe top is for radio presets though it doesn’t really matter in my case bc the car almost instantly forgets presets for top and bottom bc the Audi MMI software is terribly buggy. Bottom you can do the heated steering wheel, but best of luck it actually staying there

Anyone else have android auto issues? Pretty much 100% of the time when I leave the car for a short period of time and then get back in and start it up, android auto freezes and is pretty much useless. Super frustrating.

CarPlay issues - connects right away initially from a short break, but then kicks back into Audi's MMi. I also started having the strange issue where my music player of choice (Amazon Music) will keep playing on my iPhone after I turn off the car and leave - I cannot pause or stop it via the shortcut menu and have to exit the app manually on my phone. Not sure how much of this is Audi or CarPlay.

Radio favorites deleting constantly is truly annoying - having to reset it each time nearly at the point where I will just stop making favorites.

I tinkered with this today. Holding down on certain MMI menu items will bring up a menu to add to favorites or create a shortcut at the bottom screen. Not all menu items allow this and I couldn't find a way to do it for the raise/lower function as predicted.

Note: the blanks at the top row of the bottom LCD will remain, you access the shortcuts by pressing the icon with a row of blocks. To delete a short cut, long hold on it and the display will change with Xs on each shortcut to delete it.

Thanks, we should try to make a list of what can/cannot be added to the favorites.

The quickest way to raise/lower the vehicle that I have found is to hit the drive select physical button once (the one one next to the push button start and up or down doesn’t matter). Pushing it only once automatically brings up the drive select menu, but will not change the mode. You can then select raise or lower in the bottom right corner of the screen. This way, no matter where in the MMI you are you can raise/lower the car with only two presses (one physical button and then the button on the screen).

    That's how I do raising/lowering.
