    Hello Audizine world!
I just wanted to reach out and tap on those more experienced. I'm wondering about any tips, heads-up, suggestions to keep my 2010 A6 Avant on its current trajectory. I've got 90,000 miles on 'her' and she's been running find. I just take care of regular oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, and all other scheduled preventive maintenance. So far, I'm still in love with this car! Suggestions?

Congrats on holding onto your 2010 A6 Avant

    I recommend the following
    - Complete Engine Flush
    - Carbon Cleaning (using Walnut Blaster) on Intake Valves (Replace PCV, Thermostat, Oil Filter Housing, and Supercharger Oil while you have the SC off)
    - Transmission Fluid Change
    - Differential Fluid Change
    - Change your oil every 3000-5000 miles using Full-Synthetic oil from Liqui Moly or Motul or Redline
    - Keep Fluids topped off, especially Engine Oil

Thanks, it seems from your profile you've got experience with similar vehicle. The latter four of your bullet points I've done. Don't know much about the first two. I like to eat walnuts. Should I save the shells?

Well, you won't be saving much money - but the walnut sells are usually grounded down to a grit powder and blasted behind the intake valves. Intake valves need completely seal the cylinder. You don't want any materials passing in between the intake valves and cylinder.

I'm interested in learning more about this 'walnut shell' cleaning. Can't understand how this was first somebody's idea, how it came to be, how many here may have done it, and from some of what I've read - is it really such a risky/costly process?

It's a safe media so if you leave any behind, it just burns up with combustion. Any other kind of sand particle would likely cause damage. Hence using walnut shells. It's not hard, just time consuming and can be messy.

IMO it is more important to do the transfer case oil. For one thing what it protects is more expensive. I spent a lot of time doing the front diff and the OEM oil wasn't black. I'm at 160,000 miles or so. Given that none of the walkthroughs discuss it, don't forget to replace the O-ring inside of the the drain plug with a high-temperature FKM O-ring.
