Cool How many of you buy an extra wheel, for a just in case scenario?

I just purchased new wheels for my RS5 and in the past always purchased an extra wheel. Just in case one gets damaged and they are no longer being made.

It's happen to me before, anyone else do the same thing?

Or am I just being paranoid?

I don't think that's being paranoid, probably pretty smart actually. I didn't buy an extra wheel or even think about it when I ordered mine. If I damage one and can't find a replacement I'll just have to buy a new set of something else. Then I'll have three old wheels that someone will want because they damaged theirs and can't find the replacement. Vicious cycle...

I always keep a full size spare in the trunk ready to go. I am not leaving an RS5 on the side of the road or throwing a donut on it.

A couple of months ago I was driving home from work at around 10 P.M. and had to go an exit further than I normally go because of construction on the exit ramp. So when I flipped around to comeback, it was rainy and dark and I absolutely crushed a pothole I couldn’t see and immediately looked at the TPMS screen and watched it go from green to amber to red asap. I pulled over immediately and switched the wheels out. It took me a little longer because it was dark, but I got it done.

I always prepare for the worst and hope for the best!

Most bent wheels are easily repaired, and this is especially so for the stock forged wheels. Cast after-market wheels can be repaired, but they can be fubar more easily.

Personally, I buy 4 extra wheels, but that's for summer and winter tires. Depends where you live, but this is the best way to swap between summer and winter tires if you must. If I damage a wheel it is typically repaired in a day or two but, if not, I have a full set of wheels that I can use in the mean time.
